Has anyone got or can offer any advice on bullet cameras ? i have looked at various websites but obviously the choice is huge and varies greatly price wise. i am going to plug it straight into my digi cam (av in).
any thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for that people. that article really helped also have clicked a link from here to dogcamsport which also looks good. decisions, decisions.
picking the bike up on the 28th of this month so there is no rush for a camera system just yet.will keep you posted though and hopefully have some video footage soon.
If you are going to record on Video then make sure the vid camera has an AV input for you to use the bullet camera through. If you have the recorder, you can get a bullet camera from Maplins Electronics that can be used. I used to use this system quite happily till some thieving scum nicked the vid camera. I bought a complete set up last year, two bullets, one I put facing forward and one back, all worked lovely with switches on the handlebar. Unfortunately, i totalled the vid in an accident last year, shall be shopping for another soon.
I used to use the Maplins bullet camera and it was great. What you will also need is a remote microphone, when you plug into the AV in it appears to always cut out the built in microphone on the camera. I used to use one of the lapel types and had it located in the fairing, otherwise you get too much wind noise and it ruins the whole thing.
Bear with me mate, am developing camera mount to suit ur bike so u can still use the digicam without any extras. you could be my guinea pig if ya like?
My original set up was bodged by yours truly from Maplins stuff. Got a small microphone from them that required a battery. As long as you put the microphone somewhere sensible you could really hear the exhaust. I just laid mine over the top of the engine and it worked really well.
The microphone for the two camera system I last bought came with the kit. I had a seperate power box in the boot of the bike that powered bith cameras and microphone. Again, when in operation and the microphone located correctly the sound was great.
there is a set up available which mounts directly to your tank using allen bolts, this then holds the digi camera much better than the ones available that use suction pads, still dont think you can do much better than the dogcam set up though.
I definitely want to get a camera set-up but have zero boot space on my bike.
Interested in how people have gotten along with the all-in one bullet cams & in time-versus-resolution stats using the largest compatible SD cards. This info seems hard to find for some of these cameras…
