Looks like I’m gonna be looking after a m8’s CBR1100 (Blackbirdie type thing) for a few months cause he’s been banded for speeding in his car
So where as I’d normally be out on the back lanes on my old (very old) Motard, I could be out to playing on some more open roads for a change (look out Essex!).
If anyone is up for a spot of early morning thrapping in a week or so… Me too pleasey!
Not sure what I’ll do with all that extra power tho… I guess I’ll find a use for it Just hope I can hold on to my licence tho!!
Fast? Only as fast as you twist that thing on the right…or is it on the left?
I’m just teasing, I’m a bit been there done etc. But thanks for marking my card.
I have ridden this CBR down some of the Motarding lanes I use. The fecking thing under steers and then over steers like a son-of-a-y’know! Prolly my ham-fisted technique!
To be honest, these fast bikes don’t really float my boat any more. I want to live so I just find myself backing off everywhere. On any challenging road, cant you get more than 3 gear changes without going way to fast?
I used to have a Blade about 300m yrs ago, best bike I ever had, but at least with a 600cc bike you weren’t going everywhere at 150mph…not that 120makes so much difference, but you know what I mean. When you’re on a 6 and everyone else has a litre bike, you’ll be the one having the most fun cause you gotta ride the wheels off it to keep up (or should that be stay ahead! ).
No, as nice as these big bikes are, they’re nowhere near the fun of a slower bike, they’re just to easy to go fast on, once the novelty of the grunt has abated, what have you got left? The modern bikes handle too well for their own good, take the TL1000 Suzuki. At least you were never quite sure if you’d get butt-phucked riding that. Although that bike did handle, it was an entertaining ride.
I got go put the kids to bed and finish my VAT 1/4. Here’s hoping my man can get his insurance company sorted so I can come out to play with you lot!
Well, it’s no sports bike, it’s more of a swift tourer, but I get your point. Personally, I try to enjoy all bikes, and tend to find something interesting in all of them, even the 100cc two-stroker I rode around last winter for a laugh whilst inbetween insurance policies on the gixxer.
Yeah me too! I wound up collecting an RS125 Prilla from the City some yrs back for a m8. Went to drop it at his house in Harlow one Sunday morning. Went via the country lanes. Caught couple of guys on some tricked up metal and at first they didn’t want to play. Eventually, one of them bit, cant remember if it was the Blade or T595 rider, but he left it until we were on some very challenging tarmac. On leaving them I was very nearly deceased as the brake pads had fallen out, but that’s another story!
Gr8 lil’bike that prilla was. You had to flog it and not slow down. Mind you, it was frustrating racing a chap in a 911 Porsche on it. Can you imaging not being able to out drag a car on a bike!!! Course, on my 40hp XR6 I’m pretty use to it now, recently getting past a VW Passat on Gravel Lane in Chigwell had me sweating going up that steep hill when the driver decided to get his foot in!
