Got shims today, waiting for a puller to arrive to get my swinger bearings back in, last of the bits being picked up from the powdercoaters tomorrow morning - it’s all happening!
I had to take my heads off in the end so that added a bit of time and now I found that my transmission shaft is shagged so waiting for a new one of them from Italy.
Alright swerver. I just put all my bearings into the Fireblade swinger last night. They went in no trouble.
Popped them in the freezer overnight. Then I wiped a thin layer of grease inside where the bearings sit. Then I used TimR’s genius method to squeeze them in most of the way, knocked them in the rest of the way with a rubber mallet and using a nut socket as a drift.
Then for the larger bearings I used a mallet and a block of wood to knock them in, and a larger socket as a drift again to get them in the rest of the way…
Let me know how you get on with the special tool though dude

Cheers Conrad, I think these new bearings I’ve got are gonna go in easier…I’m gonna freeze them and warm up the swinger with a heat gun, then I’ve got a new internal puller turning up which should make it easy 
Cheers Garret, just picked up the rest of the bits from the powdercoaters this morning, hopefully the puller will turn up before the weekend then I can start putting this bad boy back together at last!

Thanks, it’s a Goldspeed wet 16.5", you’ll probably be after a 17" though - they do the 17" Goldspeed wet front at AAA Racing (top blokes there btw - highly recommended):
