And what happens if you breakdown? Hard shoulders exist for a reason.
Design, build and invest in a decent national public transport system to lure people out of their cars rather than these timid, futile, stupid measures.
they already do this on the M1, and it works. it is nearly always accompanied by a speed restriction due to congestion and the trucks just move over. does make a difference. only suitable on ‘managed’ motorways though, so if there is a breakdown or an emergency they can close it again quick.
Get them out of their cars and onto public transport - I want the roads for myself for f*cks sake!
