Offroading!

Here’s some pictures from an MX track near Stokenchurch, just off the M40 that I went to yesterday. I’ve just acquired a Honda XLR250 and it’s the first time I’ve done any offroading so I was pretty happy with the results (aside from coming off twice and bending the brake lever into a banana!).

Hahaha, great pictures Silver! I don’t live far from the M40, I might have to check that out if it’s not long down it from London. Looks like you had a much better inarguation with the dirt than I did! Good fun eh?

Jay, after I posted this I saw your previous post about offroading at J6 of the M40, which is where this is. From your pictures though it looks like a different place (no jumps in yours?). I’m guessing there must be two tracks there?

Anyway, it’s about 25 miles from me, so not too far. Let me know if you’re heading up there again.

Ah, interesting. This is Rod’s playground and he introduced me to it. There’s normally jumps there, but there weren’t the couple of times I’ve been, so I guess you got lucky and I wasn’t! We’ll have to do something down there for sure. I’ll see what Rod thinks.

Hmmm… that’s interesting. I think it’s been in it’s current “form” for a while - I know some people who went down there a couple of months ago and it was like it is now. I’ve also seen it from the M40 for the last while and it’s been like that.

At the moment the ground is nice and hard, with only one small muddy patch. Makes it quite fast and hard! I bloody ache at the moment though! There were only three other bikes there on Sunday too.

Edit: Just looked at your pictures again, and I’m not sure it’s exactly the same place - the terrain looks different. Is there more than one field? I did see some bikes around that weren’t in the same field as us.

The rest of my pictures are here: http://66.232.152.169/~damonspe/offroad01.htm

I still reckon it looks like a very different field - not just the jumps etc but the slope of the field.

Nice, I want a go now! I’ll put my spare one-piece leather suit on this time if the ground is harder, hehe…

Haha! That’s interesting.

What does it actually mean though? There was no evidence of trying to stop people using it. I guess it means a fine for the bloke who owns the field?

Hehehe, great pictures Rod! Looks hard work getting through the bog, I doubt I’d have coped
