Such a nice day, changed the wheels on the Celica, summer wheels on now, washed and ready to go. Off to sunny Margate soon, stop at my brothers for a cuppa then back home. I have been waiting too long to get out, Road Angel primed and ready. Nice and steady today (Not).
The title of the thread suggests he was planning to ride to Margate on his R1, after changing the wheels on his car.
I’m puzzled about why anyone would have 2 sets of wheels for their car and bother changing them around twice a year. What’s the difference between winter wheels and summer wheels?
I guess it was a metaphor for “here comes the good weather”
Hope you enjoyed your ride to Margate. Is the listed rollercoaster still there?

I have the Gen 7 Celica, I use a crappy set of wheels for the salty winter roads. The standard Celica wheels I had sprayed in Candy Black, where I live out in the wilds, the council heavily grit the Grain road. The finish wouldn’t last long at all. I have a third set of Devil chrome and black 17 inch too.
I had a health scare in 2007 (Hospital thought I had a mini stroke), I thought I was going to die, had to learn to walk again. I have always had a nice bike but driven old crap cars. I decided life is way too short, I wanted a Celica for years, my children were at a nice age 15 and 12, it was the best thing I have done.
Many of my friends and workmates thought it was a mid life crisis, not at 49. If you get to know me you will realise what a genuine man I am, what you see is what you get.
I have done lots of things in my life, I had a carefree lifestyle until I got to 30. Then I got engaged and married at 33. It all went downhill from then. Divorced in 2002, was Captain sensible until 2008, worked hard all my life so time to enjoy.
Make the most of your youth guys, believe me it passes very quickly. I must sound like your father?
Always had bikes, when I got married house kids etc I was reduced to a DT 125 Yamaha, full power with the power valve for many years. When money was good I bought a brand new SV 650, then a Firestorm, SV 1000, still have a Bandit 600 and the R1. Now the children are teenagers and want to do their own thing, I have more time to enjoy the bikes, I don’t like the cold or winters anymore, I got the heated clothing late in the year, but its fantastic.
