Had to stop smartish today on a crossing. As I braked, front and back (discs), there was a weird ‘chinking’ noise, almost like my chain was running free over the spokes. Anyone know what this was?
Clutch was held in and I didn’t stall it. Appears to be no damage to chain or sprockets, and bike performed fine after that. It’s an ER6n in great condition.
have you got ABS? if so then it was the ABS cycling as your tyres skipped across the white lines 
mine does that sometime just before/after it locks
No ABS. Yeah, I could feel it wanting to lock but I managed to stop it - what causes the noise though?
Floating discs?
I do have floating discs - so what happens with them to make the noise? I’m just curious.
