odd bandit problem

Hey anyone got a k4 bandit out there…

was travelling along good as gold when the bike runs a bit odd, fule gets a bit low but then it seems that the speedo and the revs are reading wrong, the bikes either got no power or I am doing more revs and speed than the bike is indicating…

I have just replaced the sprokets, and they are standard size and it ran for about 50 miles normally, speedo and rev counter reading fine…any idea if I could have damaged the speedo or rev counter pick up whilst removing the chain cover…have I done some thing I shouldnt have…

I did run it into reserve at the time but I doubt its fuel…could the clutch actuating arm be sticking and the clutch not properly engaging…it doesnt sound like any clutch slip…but?

Any ideas this is an odd one on me…mine is the one without the speedo cable…

i have a K3 bandit. when i did my last chain and sprockets i dropped the speedo pick up which sits in the middle of the front sprocket. It is a short tube, with 4 lugs around it. the speedo counts every time the lugs go past.

when i dropped i knocked one of the lugs off and it was reading slower than i was going. I got a new for less than £20. worth double checking

yes i know the item…hmm wonder if mine is not fixed properly will take it off and have a look thanks that man…that could be it…

could be on the wrong way round. also, check out www.banditownersclub.com for discounts, advice, meets and general bandit fun!

yep spot on one of the arms on the cog wheel had broken off…good one man…feel better now but that haynes manual was useless at describing the unit…ta muchly

Welcome to Bandit family. That forum is good, really. I suspect that you bought that bandit from Debz and Grimbusa. Am I right?

nope had it for three years from new…

its a faired model…was my re-introduction to new bikes instead of oldies…

no problem mate
