I need to trace a rider, she had an accident (of which I arrived just after) I helped move her bike, and hid it away in a corner of someones garden…
This was before xmas, the only problem with the bike was a snapped clutch lever (so bad it could not be used at all)…
anyway this was before xmas and the bike is still sitting in th same place, I gave her my number but did not hear back, so want to get in contact to see what going on… as if she don’t want the bike I’ll take it!
Have you tried speaking to the person whose garden you left it in ? - the rider may well have been in touch with them and left contact details ?
I would err on the side of caution however as , obviously I don’t know the extent of the riders injuries , there may well be other " issues " as to why she has not recovered it ???
she was fine mate, spoke to her for about 10 mins after she was just shaken up, think it is a case of has not been on there is so long she is giving up, I even offered if she gets the lever to put it on for her so she could ride away…
As I have found out, getting these sort of details is difficult even if you need them for legal reasons (e.g. somebody causes an accident). All sorts of data protection crap.
On the other hand, it may be worth asking the local police, they may have a case reference and pass your details on again.
Sounds like it’s a bit a shame she’s not picked it up. You never know what happened …
police station will usally do it if u give them details… we had the same prob a few years back when a rider come off on my main road i had his bandit for 3 weeks in my yard!
You can do an DVLA search, but I think you need to pay a couple of quid for it (£2.50 or something), the police can do it, or if you know someone in insurance they may be able to do you a favour too.
as bikerdan said, if bloke wants it out of garden phone police to sort it, say to em if they dont i will leave it outside, cant see any probs if bloke who’s garden it is had nowt to do with accident and is only doing the bird a favour.
