I can’t start this post without first saying, Smiled’s GSXR is f@!king dope, he’ll be the first to tell you he’s driving it like a pansie (and he is ;-)) but who’d blame him, it has far to much potential to throw you down the road.
So after seeing his post asking who’s down the Ace I rolled in at about 5, there were a fair few people around, lots of poncy american muscle cars and a jam in ya pants Mustang. Had a good natter with Shane about the new bike, man that exhaust is sweet, what is it about stubbie exhausts? Hyperlink (Dan) turned up on his R1, had a bit of a chat with him, bit later 666 (Oodie) turns up on his R6. Spent a really pleasant afternoon/evening chatting with the guys.
Dan had to head off down to Brighton for a “party”, Shane suggested we headed down to Chelsea Bridge to see if there were any bikes down there, so we rolled, first to drop Oodie’s missus off then head into town. We headed down to Hanger Lane at the junction to the slip road onto the A406 there’s a cop car sitting at the lights, in the middle lane ready to go straight on, we just catch the lights and start filtering into the traffic. We’re pootling along not much over &^*@ miles an hour, plenty of spirited progression. Oodie’s in lane 2 me and Shane in lane 3. As we’re approaching the lights at Hanger Lane the cop car pulls up along side us, initially I think nothing of it, then I notice they’re wound the window down and they’re having a chat with Oodie. That’s nice I think, obviously they’re complimenting him on his beautifully engineered japanese motorcycle. Hang on a sec they gesticulating for him to pull over on the left…here we go AGAIN!!!
I don’t know what this copper was on, I’m sure Oodie’ll clear up the details but from what I understand he wasn’t happy with the speed, it was in no way dangerous of excessive, the traffic was incredibly light and perfect conditions, he seemed to think Oodie had been riding in lane 3, which quite frankly was un-true. The funny thing was that the other officer seemed to think that me and Shane would be prepared to leave Oodie on his own, “You can leave if you want, this could take a while”, F$&K OFF, why would I leave?
Anyway, since doing my BikeSafe which gave me an insight into how nice Police officers can be, this past week has curtainly changed that, now they seem to be more verging on petty t@$ts.
The ride continued into town after Oodie dropped his missus off, went to Chelsea Bridge, no bikes just more muscle cars, decided to head for Leicester Sq, got there just in time for my bike to start over heating, bumped into Trojan outside McD’s had a chat with him then I decided to call it a night and head home.
All in all, despite the obvious, it was a nice Saturday.
