Non OEM parts

So it is official need to replace the Rad on the bike.

Not had to replace one before so what are peoples thoughts on non-oem saw them ranging from about £50-£130 on eBay.

SV650 K9 in case you need to know.

I know of a few people that have fleabay rads & no complaints

its a case of you pays your money you take a chance.

Check the price of a new one first. Not all OEM parts are extortionate. You could see if BigD has one either.

Are you implying that he needs the D ?

Big D you say! Well whenever I call him he does not stock SV parts

I have a spare 2002 one but not sure if it would fit?

Curvy rads don’t fit pointy bikes

Yup what wise said. Appreciate the offer though…

Pretty sure Big D doesn’t deal in parted out bike parts anymore.

OEM parts ok, except for seals. always buy OEM seals.

There’s a number of radiator repair specialists around who could repair or rebuild your radiator.

Google is your friend in finding a ‘motorcycle radiator repair’ local to you.

West Mercia Radiators have a good reputation http://www.westmerciaradiators.co.uk/index.html

cheers NT might give them a call see what they think.

I bought a radiator from these guys for my bandit about 3 years ago. No issues so far. The welding job isn’t the best (at least for mine it wasn’t), but it saved me £150+ compared to OEM.

These guys did some work on my ktm rad when I cracked it.

Have done 2 radiators - one on the car and one on the bike, both repaired by a radiator specialist who took them apart and replaced the rusted / holed matrix.  Honda wanted silly money for a new CBF600 rad… £300, £500 or something daft like that, plus another £100 odd for fitting.  The main stealer told me that modern radiators were single units and couldn’t be repaired.  Price at the radiator specialist… £75 + £15 for a couple of large bottles of pre-mixed coolant.  Bike was £120 inc. coolant.  Simple job to take out / replace myself.
