Noise limits

So…
Spent the last few days doing little bits and bobs to the B6…

And my girlfriend decided shed buy me a lovely new exhaust cos the one I had was crap, and she’s lovely like that!
It sounds lovely!
Although I’m slightly worried its too loud.

What is too loud?
What difference does it make if its TRACK USE ONLY? (Doesn’t say it’s track only)
What difference does it make if its not marked?

Any help would be appreciated,

Loving the fact that my neighbours know I’m back…

Look into this thread… http://londonbikers.com/forums/Topic719864.aspx

Really on the road you can get away with a LOT of noise, just ask KTM owners :stuck_out_tongue:

For track it depends on the track itself I think, but I’ll let other ‘trackie’ people answer that one

Not sure on markings… again any markings are relevant only if they are spotted… but I think if it doesn’t say ‘not for road use’ or ‘track use only’ you’re fine. Can’t remember a marking saying ‘ok for road use’

Hmm…

So we’re still not 100% as there are so many answers from various scenarios etc…

This is all very confusing…

If it doesn’t say Track only or Not suitable for road, I wouldn’t worry about it…

That’s what I was thinking… But it’s soooo loud!
Sounds orgasmic :hehe:

are the baffles in?

Yes! But you wouldn’t think so…

I’m scared to try it without…

what exhaust did you get?

Man up.

This is she…
The Mrs knows me rather well!

All I know is its a delkevic…

I take it I’m the only one that likes it…

If your ears aren’t bleeding
It’s not to loud

So, apparently…
After speaking to BTP they have informed me that this is where I will find my info…

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1986/1078/regulation/58/made

However…
(Maybe it does… Maybe I just can’t find it…)
But it doesn’t say where the noise limit gets checked…
Directly at the can?
10" behind it?
10yards behind?

i told you stubbys are **** you cock:D

you’ve been speaking to the BTP!:w00t:

I emailed them,

who BTP?

why wtf has it got to do with them?

just ferking ride it, loud or not loud whats it matter

Personally, i think the can looks good on the bike.
Also, I honestly think the police have far better things to do in London that worry about loud bikes.
Seriously, Frank hasn’t been stopped and his bike sounds like a furious god of thunder and Nivag’s KTM, well, that thing spits bloody fire

Probably the only time you’ll have an issue is if you get a picky tester at MOT time

BTP- British transport police.

Yeah that’s what I figured, I don’t mind a fine etc if its too loud… Just don’t want any points etc…

(Not sure what there point of call would be)
