At just before 7pm I was approaching Lambeth Bridge from St Thomas’s Hospital and there was an usually long tailback. I guessed there was some sort of accident on the roundabout and wasn’t surprised to see a bike, a black early 80’s Vespa, on the back of a flatbed truck. Oh no - not another rider down! There seem so many at the moment. Then I realised the rider was probably perfectly safe - I suspect the bike was already on the flat bed when the first four feet of that blue hatchback crumpled on impact with the lorry!
it happens often im afraid, i got knocked off on thursday, all good though
A friend of mine got knocked off last night.
Sad news, lets just hope the rider has the skin in his teeth and got away.
I expect the rider was in the cab with the driver being recovered when the car hit the back of the lorry very hard. The rider might have whiplash, but nothing worse.
hehe good story G, wonder how the car missed a massive flatbed though…
Sorry, Mate, I didn’t see you?
If you shut your eyes, its rather easy to miss seeing ANYTHING.
