ride in to work on the A406 through n11, abiker on the other side of the road, pass by eye con: is made so i nod, BLANK FK U then me thinks, then another 2mins apart same thing, then again 3 times all made eye con: all blanked me .thats a lot of nods. I say sorry now thanks to those IGNORANTS FKS i nod no more:angry:
Nah, keep nodding, its them that has the problemā¦i get a buzz when a fellow biker gives me the āhello mateāā¦ But ive had the odd a-hole as well, lets face it, its not set in stone they have to nod back, maybe they cant do two things at once eh? Nod back and remember to look at the road sort of thing? ha ha ha
If I nodded at every bike I saw when I used to commute along the A40 to Chiswick I think my head would have dropped off!! Donāt expect to much in the way of return nods in rush hour, people just want to get to or from work. At the weekend itās a different story, if they donāt nod back at ya then they are rude
it was the look look me in the the eye that got me, look at the bike yes no prob but to look at you in the eye at slow speed. Think it must be an n11 thing:crazy: and ive let me self down smoking again 0 s**t
I agree, doesnāt take much to nod back to somebody, especially when itās not that many of those who greet you on the road. Nice gesture and so effortless.
I tend to only do it if I get nodded to, which happens rarely when commuting, no one has time for that, only weekend riders to, also think you only get nodded depending on the bike you ride, you on a nice sports bike you get nods, you on a commuter bikeā¦ you get fuko.
Generally I donāt bother nodding in Londonā¦not saying anything against the people here, just dont seem to get anything back most of the time Donāt really get that problem elsewhere in England.
Iāve all but given up with the London nod thing too I still say hallo at traffic lights mostly tho! Iāve also nodded when Iām in the car that got a strange look back :hehe: If i get a nod back tho, i do wonder if its someone from this forum! So maybe the nod will become our secret handshake!!
Must admit I never nod on my commute in London. Would be nothing personal if I ignored you, too busy looking out for idiots trying to kill me.
I save the nodding stuff for outside of London when iām out to enjoy the ride.
I also try to avoid talking at the lights, not to be antisocial, the main reason is I have trouble hearing what anyone is saying through a helmet and ear plugs, so I just end up nodding to whatever theyāre on about, probably telling me my rear wheel is loose :w00t:
