No Insurance

I called my insurance company today to get a quote on the new CBR RR…cutting a longish story short. They won’t insure the bike due to it’s value and the area that I live in. Now Kilburn isn’t all that bad from what i’ve seen in my 4ish years here. The lady I spoke to said she’ll check a couple other things for me and call me back tomorrow. Am I really going to have to wait for it to be worth a couple grand less before I can buy it? GRRrrrrrrr…

Try http://www.gocompare.com/ they search different companies for you. Worth a try

well shewoolf lives in Kilburn and has a r6 she hasnt had any problems insuring… apart from her points

Thanks for the help unfortunatly still not looking so good may just have to stick with my one a bit longer oh and here is a good laugh for you.

Sounds like you’ve had a good four years! I live 10mins down the road in Scrubs Lane area and have had trouble with the little hood rats, but hey! lol

Good luck with the insurance search matey!

You should have checked the insurance cost before buying the bike, but I guess you realise this now

Try the LB insurance comparison service:

Remember, there’s loads of insurance companies out there catering for all different demographic groups, so don’t lose faith.

I just spoke to the insurance rep i spoke to last night and she’s come back with £1300. Still a lot but a hell of a lot better than before. Not sure if i should bite the bullet and go with it or keep my current bike and buy a lexus is200 ewww dark side of 4 wheels. It would be a much easier choice if my fiance would come on the bike.

oh mate dont do the four wheels. Sell a kidney or summit. It cant be that bad.

performance direct hornchurch essex mate thats who i was with. i had 1200 bandit and years no claims was 184 fully comp.

ha i wish i’m on 600 at the mo for my 2000 cbr due to my age being 23 or at least that’s what i’m being told.

Have you tried Motorcycle Direct, I’m with them for my R6. I have 9 points on my driving licence, only passed my test in october and had have an outstanding claim from Jan this year I’m a bit older than you at 29 but they should be worth a try.

most people hate getting older i can’t bloody wait to turn 25 for that big insurance drop my brothers 955 daytona is only £100 a year.

Try ‘Honda insurance’ They insure my RR and they given me the cheapest insurance ever, So cheap. Comes with all the legal protection, AA, etc…

PM me if you want the number

Hi,

try quotes from express, h&r and riders choice, they were my best three and from about twenty insurers. I insure a 2006 ZX636 in an NW6 postcode, which is basically Kilburn. Oh, and always ring them - I’ve found online quotes can be a bit crap!

I got a “reasonable” deal (three figures, Fully Comp) from express in the end, but we will always pay a premium for fast, valuable, ungaraged bikes in London…

Yup with H&R at the moment definatly the best that i’ve been quoted on so far. Probably going down the kepping bike and buying a car route though. Bike in to work and have the car when i’m with my fiance.

you treid ebike?

Best quote I could get on 06 ZX6R. Live quite local to the area you mention.

Good luck

I live in hammersmith & i got my licence last year, 1 theft claim & 1 conviction & NOT garaged.

got 770 TPFT with everything for my 05 cbr rr.

either MCE

or (adrian flux (bikesure)

mine’s with the latter but both were very close. everyone else was between 1.2k to 2.3k
