Has anyone got a pair of Nitro boots? Just that I need a new pair of boots and they seem very cheap! Anyone with any info about them?
Chilled n Sorted, if ya buy a pair you will be angry and frustrated I had two pairs when I first re-started riding the soles came off from left boots on both pairs. Company wouldn’t exchange or repair. Bought a pair of swift super bike boots after that which were good value for money but the velcro soon goes.
Now on my most expensive pair of boots some sidi vertabrae boots. Only worn five times so far, so juries out.
hmmm yea guess you get what you pay for, atm I got pair Daytona, best boots I ever had, I had them 5 years, never leaked or anything, but now soles are wearing thru, omly trouble is they are more than £250, still might have to save a bit longer!
Thanks for that.
Hi Chilled,
I got some new boots from J&S New Malden over the weekend. They’re doing some good discounts at the moment. Got a very comfortable pair of Swift track boots for £70.
Time will tell of course, but I tried on practically every pair they had, and these were the best mix of comfort and economy. Wore them for 5 hours on Sunday with no problems.
Totally agree about the Daytonas, they’re a league above other stuff on the market.
One of the great features that you don’t seem to be aware of is that unlike other boots you don’t need to replace them as you can get them resoled by the factory.
Not sure of the exact price, but I believe they also give them a re-line & general refurb, downside is that as they have to go back to Germany to be done, there is a couple of weeks turn-around time.
Speak to your local dealers, they’ll be able to give you a better idea of price & turn around times.
well, i couldnt afford brand new boots so i bought a set of sidi vertabra 2 off ebay they were 6 months old and mint! they cost me £60! bargain, and they are so comfy
In answer to the question about price of Daytona boots - shed loads. They are great boots, very comfortable and can be repaired. They are not the easiest to get on and off and depending on the variety that you select expect to pay £450 upwards. I know that you can get them from GLF Accessorise who do MJK leathers as well.
Oh cool, didnt know you could get them refurbished will pop along to dealers and see what they say Thanks evryone
and they look like wellies.
I know that shouldn’t be important but… if I had that cash to spend I would tho
I have a pair of Daytona’s in need of repair, let us know how you get on…
Actually i got my daytonas from a shop in germany - bought them online and got them for £160…
You can get Daytona Boots at Infinety care of Baby J @ GLS with the LB discount!!! He also had his repaired recently so ask hm what he thought of the job they did.
They do all sorts of boots - not just the £400 race jobbies - mine are a nice summer weight but with a gortex lining and all day comfort - even do MX boots but these can also be used as Friday Night Sh*t Kickers…
Finally got my Daytonas back - cost £89, but what an excellent job, all new soles, insides, gear change etc! like new again - I’ a happy chappy
How long did it take for them to sort out your boots, Chillednsorted?
Liz
Ages! I think the girl who actualy booked the boots in, left the shop and didn’t tell anyone, then the factory was shut for couple weeks for holidays. they usually say it takes about 4 weeks, mine took about 8, but well worth waiting for. The boots are really comfy, can walk in them all day and have no problems, and seeing as these boots must have done 70,000 miles in all weathers, can’t fault them.
I just bought some brand new Daytonas off eBay for £91 … they ain’t the height of fashion, but they are very comfy and very well made … I know I’m not going to wear any other boots on my bike now!
