Awful ad, but this bike could hit the sweet spot for some people looking for a more economical ride…I would imagine a solid 60mpg and a 0-60 time of 6 seconds…
the advert has sold me on that.
I thought the ad was pretty entertaining. Didn’t get it but I watched all of it which is unusual. Don’t know why they bothered making a 300cc when they have a 250cc out. They should have brang back the good old 400ccs.
The bike has exactly the same chassis as the 250 (which will still be sold in Asia and North America), but a bigger engine for European market due to changes in the EU restricted licence laws from January next year.
I agree that a screaming 400 would be nice to see again in a modern chassis with modern fuelling and other updates, but it would cost about the same as a 600 which are no longer selling as it is
The new restrictions will mean…
A 17 year old now must stay on a 125 until they reach 19, they can no longer take a restricted test to get a 33 BHP bike. Basically they may as well just stay on a CBT (but they can take the Category A test apparently).
When they reach 19, they can take a restricted test on a 125 and then use a bike of power between 33 - 47 BHP.
After 2 more years or when they reach 21, they can take another test on a 595cc (54 BHP) bike to gain their full licence.
Sucks to be young and into bikes and I don’t see any parity in restricting young drivers which have the potential to be far more dangerous to others if not so much themselves.
there are no decent(any) new 400’s out the - they would’ve cleaned up
Details on the new test are here

Thats fucked… I’m glad I’m not a current 16 year old thats going to be screwed over like that.
I’ve said this before, but can you imagine to outcry if they applied similar test rules to car driver?
Passing thought. If they don’t apply similar test rules to car drivers, are the EU and British Governments in breach of Human Rights by applying discriminatory policies?
that ninja looks like a great deal of fun!
Thumbs up!!
