Nigeria bikers' vegetable helmets

Lol

You wonder how many of the Stolen bikes in the Uk end up there too. Bit of a laugh that article, but the underlying issue is that the local government is handing out bikes to people who should really not have them unless they have done the license and had some training. Madness. Pumpkin heads the lot of them!

the nigerians wont like or understand the need for this kind of law…but this bit made me laugh…

“Some people can put juju inside the helmets and when they are worn the victim can either lose consciousness or be struck dumb,” passenger Kolawole Aremu told the Daily Trust newspaper.

2strokes, that is Africa for you. Just mention the tokeloshe to some africans and they will run… Not funny though as old tribal beliefs are very seriously messing things up in moving forwards in education/health/security.

hey I had an office in Nigeria for 5 years, and employed 35 nigerians so I have seen some of this…still hate the cockroaches in nigeria…bloody monstrous things they are…

So where can i get my hands on some of this juju?

We could have a trial of it here to see if it works, Ginger, fancy a go.:w00t:

I’ll be seeing the South African roaches close up and personal next week Saturday… for the first time in 5 years too. Should be fun. I’d better take my baseball bat or get a .22 short to sort them out.

How very very true.

My mom was having trouble with the help next door throwing lunch leftovers and bones etc over the wall into her garden, and her dogs were getting sick.

Talking didnt help so she called in a ‘witchdoctor’. LOL word spread like wild fire, problem solved !!

Hey makman have a good time and be safe. I believe its nice and warm

I’m Nigerian, I grew up there and visit regularly. Stolen Bikes from the UK do not end up there… just to set the record straight.

Ta muchly for setting record straight.

'wasn’t having a dig mate… it’s just that our reputation is tarnished enough, and won’t like bike theft to be added to the long list. No offense intended and non taken.

Non taken and non intended. World is far too small for that. Ride safe.

nevermind, bikes not but all them lovely brides that ask money, sons of ex ministers, bastirds sons of wealthy business men… they all over there right?? besides how do you know if any UK bikes end up there or not?? I know for a fact that certain things do end up over there, and in other countries… no matter how poor the country is there will always be a drug lord or someone that has **** loads of money and will buy custom bikes or cars stolen or new…

I won’t want to bore you with details of Nigeria’s Socio-economic structure, so you’ll just have to trust me on this one. Nigeria has it’s problems, but nicking bikes from the UK is not one of them.

To be fair I wouldn’t necessarily blame them, after all we’re nicking all their oil! :ermm:

Few years back when I was in Lagos and they introduced helmets, loads of Okada (Bike taxis) used to just wear building hats.

Problem was, the new law was seen as just an excuse for the local police to extort cash from the Okada drivers for non compliance…and the local police did nothing to dispel this view.

I’m not sure a pumpkin would have stood up as well as my Shoei when I crashed…

Steady mate. These are poor bikers on 80cc and 125s not your 600s or 1000cc bikes. It is out of order to attribute stolen UK bikes to poor who probably have never been on a plane. Neither is it nice to laugh at their plight.

Not funny

You seem not to take into consideration that these chaps cannot afford the helmets. It is something we take for granted in Europe, but the cheapest helmet on sale in the UK may be a months wage for some of these chaps.

not me, like I said I employed 35 nigerians for 5 years in Nigeria so I have a bit of empathy with them…but to be sure it is without a doubt the most dangerous place in the world for foreign workers…this is now official as reported by the BBC by the number of kidnappings and killings…it can be a beautiful place with some lovely people but there are more thugs and criminals than a country really deserves…

and stealing their oil…well they cant extract it themselves and the criminals steal it from the pipelines by the millions of barrels a day so not totally sure your right their pompey…
