Nicked Bikes map

Can we set up a list or map of who’s had what stolen from where?
I don’t think detailed details are a good idea, no point in helping the scrotes see on here where we all have our kit.
But how about a postcode (not necessarily a full code), date, bike, reg plate list and any other comments (e.g. ‘white transit van’).
These could be put into some form of map. At least this way we could see where the really ‘hot’ spots are and take extra measures to keep our bikes - ours.

The plod have done absolutely bugger all about getting mine back, so maybe we can find some sort of MO these delightful buggers have and do something about ‘discouraging’ them ourselves.

Excellent idea!

Excellent idea in one sense but then thieves just need to log on to lb.com (in fact, do they even need to log in?) for a map of where to steal replacement bikes from and potentially information on the new security measures which owners have taken since the theft…

That would be my only concern…

I agree with Keti here. I think in balance, it’ll offer more benefit to thieves than it would to members. As for hot-spots, the whole of London is one, and if you’re in a ‘quiet’ area, then don’t be lulled into a false sense of security, a van can turn up at any time and pluck a bike up. Get it out of view, and Almax’ed to something solid, and then add some additional security. These are the steps you should be taking to protect your bike in London.
