I think my record is 850 miles in one day. I didn’t feel very clever afterwards. But I am tempted.

I was pondering the clockwise route for this year, taking in some of the more scenic routes around Scotland? The A82 alongside Loch Lomond and the A93 through The Cairngorms National Park. I think between the two they’ll add a maximum of 90 minutes riding time over the more usual route. Plan A would be to reach Pitlochry in daylight to make the extra effort worthwhile, just need a little planning on fuel stops, the obvious Braemar Service Station closes at 6pm on Saturdays ;-(
