Newsletter #1

Due to some problems with people not being able to view the first LB newsletter, here it is for reference!

Newsletter #1

Welcome to the first LB newsletter! We’re going to be sending these out on a regular basis, as and when we have something to say. First off though, we’d like to thank you for helping to make LB what it is; a unique and inspiring community that is making great plans for the future, to become the best UK biking website on the net. For now though, take a look at what’s currently going on at LB:

LB Christmas Dinner

As we’re all getting ready to kick back, throw on our smoking jackets and fill our belly’s to enjoy the festive season. LB is getting ready to throw their first ever official bash; the Christmas Party, being held in the West End this Saturday, the 10th December. Our Technical Safety Partners, Adrenalin X will be present to sponsor the Awards and our official charity partners from London Air Ambulance are attending also. Closing day for the tickets was in November. There will be photos and an in-depth article on the night.

We’ve managed to make available another ten or so tickets, so if you didn’t know about the bash before, or are finding yourself at a loose end for the weekend, then get in contact, and come along!

LB Charity: London Air Ambulance

It has been a very busy first eight months for LB, with our member base growing each day. On the 18th October, we chose London Air Ambulance to be our official charity partner, because they do an amazing job saving lives everyday, also because this is something that’s close to all of us as bikers. It is an incredibly important service for the Capital we live in.

We’ll be including them in the events we organise, to raise money for them, to help run their service. Please donate some at the Christmas Party!

Events

We covered various events this year and brought you all the latest news and pictures before the magazines. LB went to the 2005 NEC Motorbike and Scooter show and the Dirt Bike Show at Stoneleigh Park in Coventry to give you all in-depth look at what was to be expected there. We found ourselves in front of three large halls full of the latest Off-Roaders, ATV’s and MotoX fashion. Many more events will be covered in the future!

Racing

LB brought you the first pictures from BSB and WSB rounds at Brands Hatch, covering both events in great detail. LB member and Bemsee racer Oli Henderson gave us a detailed insight into his experiences this year as a rookie in the 600 series.

“After four years or so on the road, a trip across Europe, many nights at Chelsea Bridge, police chases, close shaves, and fun, my career of riding on the road came to an end with a 54 month ban, £1,700 fine and a four month, electronically tagged curfew. I thought my time on a bike was over. In other words my life was over. My life felt meaningless and black. Then I was at a WSB Round at Brands Hatch and it suddenly hit me. ****!! I should be racing… I can do that. And so it was set, Oli was going racing. I hadn’t actually thought about the fact that I had never done a track day at this point”.

News

Keep up to date with what’s going on in the biking world with the LB news. We often have news before the magazines and other publications, so check it out daily.

Merchandise & New Site!

We’ve had stickers available for a while now, but also now have lower-case londonbikers.com stickers as well. These look great on bikes, helmets, cars, laptops, fridges and Police vehicles. Check them out:

Also on their way is the first batch of LB t-shirts! We’ve had hundreds made up and will be available shortly after the Christmas Party. We’ve got all sizes, so no excuses not to get one! They’ll be very reasonably priced and will make the ideal Christmas gift to yourself!

Appearing soon is a new release of the website. We’ve been working all the hours available to bring you new features and improvements. For some time, we’ve been involving you with the development of our new logo, which has been chosen, and will be incorporated into the new site.

In this new release will be the LB Directory, which promises to be the best way to find anything to do with biking in the UK, bar-none. Everything will be browsable by category, or searchable by various means. You’ll be able to submit your own items as well, so we can make this the best resource for bikers on the web together.

We’ve got a ton of things planned for next year; LB is going to be the biggest and best biking website out there if we have our way. Thanks for tagging along for the ride.

Oh, also…

From all of the LB crew, we wish you a very Merry Christmas , and hope you get everything out of it that you want, and spend some quality time with your family, and bikes!

Yours,
The LB team.
