Hi,
I need to get my bike fitted with new tyres this weekend and thought I’d use the benefit of all of your combined knowledge before shelling out.
I am thinking of getting Micheline 2CT’s having had them recommended to me. Southern Cross in Kilburn quoted me £276 fitted, Essential Rubber on Kingsland Rd. quoted £255 fitted. I’m obviously plumping for the latter unless anyone knows of an even cheaper option.
Also, if anyone has a case for a different tyre all together I’d be interested to hear it. If they’re cheaper then even better. They are for my Touno 1000 by the way.
Cheers.
i think we could sort something out for you

Essential Rubber do LB discount of 10%
Michelin 2 CT is one of the best tyres I’ve ever had, with the mixture of hard and soft rubber. I mostly ride not on my own and the tyre still keeps a long time and when you want to go fast it is very good to control in curves as well.
Good choice.
Tyres are such a complicated issue, as it all depends upon the use and your riding style.
As an alternative to the Michelin, I’d personally recommend the Pirelli Corsa III. Dual compound rear, very grippy from cold, stable, predictable, and good wet grip, too. Only negative about these is that they may not last as long as some tyres out there; all depends whether you want grip or longevity.
I suggest you have a proper chat with a tyre specialist and see what they recommend for you and your bike.
PS The Metzeler Rennsports fitted as standard on the RSV are very good, too.
I use motorcycle tyres uk just off of the A12 at Gallows Corner, never had any problems.
Michelin deals linky
on a side note -
if you buy from essential rubber, please point this out to your missus as mine went ballistic when she thought i’d spent £250 on a gimp suit or a life time supply of johnnies hth:P
I did buy from Essential Rubber, Michelin Pilot 2CT’s. Got my LB discount of 10% so they cost £229 in total. Great service, they were quick, efficient and friendly. If anyone is in the market for new tyres I’d recommend them.
The tyres are great, took the bike out to scrub them in and they immediately felt great, they really tip in a lot quicker than the Dunlops I had on before.
ZZR-1100, I already have an extensive Gimp suit collection so there shouldn’t be any confusion there!
