Looks wicked.

But don’t they tend to rub out quickly there - especially with manual work. But still it ain’t like its gonna cost ya to touch-it-up!

yea u had me fooled for a mo!!:w00t:

Ow-Wuch!

Did that hurt more than the one on your foot??

Bleurgh…still whatever floats your boat.I’ve always wanted to ask, do tattoos like these cause prejudice when interviewing for jobs? Obviously not if you are a tattooist (is that the right term :doze: ) because then it is more of a shop window but what about everyone else?

Or are all you guys with ink in bands?

It can be quite off putting to an employer, but I’ve always stuck to one simple rule… Never get a tattoo that I can’t cover with a t-shirt and shorts! I currently work in the Close Protection industry, where your image can mean getting work or not, and I don’t have any problems. Protecting anyone from foreign business men to members of the Saudi Royal Family, not one of them has seen the tat’s;)

Oh, yeah, nice tat Stace’…:stuck_out_tongue:

RR:D

lol thats funny, ‘all you guys with ink in bands’ Well no im not in a band and im not a guy… thats sterio-typing…I respect that tattoos are not for everyone. yes it does prejudice in interview but i am a full time tattooist so it doesnt matter in my case. If I have customers that come into my shop and want a tattoo where it will be clearly visable then the first thing i ask them is about there job. And i will refuse to tattoo them if i think it will stop them from getting a decent job in the future. <A class=SmlLinks id=ctlPanelBar_ctlEmotIcons__ctl13_hypEmotIconLink onclick=“if_InsertEmotIconFromPopup(‘’)” href=“http://londonbikers.com/forums/Skins/Classic/Dialogs/InsertEmotIcon.aspx?ControlID=txtPost#”>

It’s not stereotyping and guys was used as an inclusive rather than typing out girls and guys or chaps and chapettes. It was just a question from someone ignorant of the world of tattoo’s

Saw a few people got them back in the early 90’s when I was backpacking around a lot, seem to remember it was the old barbed wire on the bicep or celtic tribal stuff driven by films (Dusk till Dawn IIRC). Rebelling via safety in numbers I though at the time as hardly unique.

Just interested in whether having them exposes you to social prejudice or stigma was all…interest now waning…

Did they see the LB on the back of your head though?;)

Got to say I’m nearly full up and I’ve had none with regard to employment. I’m a senior designer for local government. I have to deal with councillors and MPs, most of them are more interested than afraid now, I think alot of the stereotypes have changed.

I had a star in the palm of my hand, lasted about 6 months. My most painful one has to be my arsecheek even more than my ****. :stuck_out_tongue:

I wanted to get one in the exact same place on my hand, the tatooist advised against it, saying that I wouldn’t be able to stand the pain.

Obviously if I was a woman he probably would have done the tat. Must be something to do with having babies & higher threshhold for pain.

Although, I lost a tenner a couple of weeks ago, managed to deal with the pain of that.

No way! lol
