ah mate sorry to hear that fella, I will pop round soon to see how ya getting on, and no wine for me this time ok:P

Ah mate, awful news! So sorry to hear it… Hope you take him to the cleaners!

Just liaising with the police and insurance company. Bloke was definitley arrested (brilliant!!!) and insurance are looking into getting me a taxi to and from work, getting my bike taken away and repaired as well as costings for my riding gear.

So the process begins.

Ouchies. Heal fast and get your chosen solicitors on the case asap. Seems your bike got of reasonably lightly. Get him for damaged kit etc… I am still pursueing a twat who rear ended me at red lights last November and refuse to sign off in full final settlement, which they are contesting now. Buggered if I should have issues with my neck and back and they walk away from it! Go get them.

Hi All, have not posted for a while as my PC wouldnt let me, go figure.

Just an update on my accident in Oct '08, I had my day in court a few weeks ago and the driver who hit me lost big time.

Now waiting for the solicitors to get together and go through the compensation order from the jusdge. The other side have to pay EVERYTING:D

Soooo, in a few weeks time it will be drinks all round!

Sod the taxi - get a limousine service to pick you up (you need the extra legroom for your injury!)

Fry the bastard!

Ross

Would have been a good idea, spent nearly 8 months at home not really able to get out and about so being able to walk now is great. Not a great fan of the train and tube though.

  • 1 dude :frowning:

well done for surviving that long at home, I would’ve gone spare! and well done on the payout too

Many congratulations. Sounds like you’re entitled to a hefty payout. Probably won’t compensate that much for the pain but at least you should be able to take a nice big holiday, to help you get over it.

glad u can walk dude!!!

and congrats on the turnout for them having to pay for all of it!

f*****g drink drivers, absolutely no excuse for it. Hope you get on the mend soon and are appropriately compensated mate.

Glad to hear your dosh is coming through man - that’s been a loooooong wait!

I thought 7 months was bad

And it’s getting longer. Spoke to my solicitor today, whith all the stuff still to go on I am unlikely to see any money for at least 4 to 5 months becuse of the legal and medical wrangling still to be done. That blows my Sept drinks out of the water. I will be lucky if I see anything before Christmas:angry:

Beers are on me. Agreed to an out of court settlement last night.

Card is behind the bar.

Only taken 3 years and 3 months.

Wow!

I was going to slam you for reviving an old thread.

Ill be at your local pub in 20mins mate! Get em in!

What ever happened to the driver?

Nothing!

Wow.

Well i hope you settled BIG mate.

Really bad luck fella, but on the bright side alive and you have the chance for compensation and closure.
Take him to the ruddy cleaners
And if I might add, on behalf of every biker here whose been fleeced by insurance compannies, take his insurer ro court and sue for them insuring a drunk driver. They profit off the backs of honest folk so they should damm well pay when they “cover” a barsteward like that.

if it was an out of court settlement it means he got paid not to prosecute any further.

well done dude,

have one for me.
