Was driving past the American Ambassador’s place by Regents Park this evening - there were 6 police bikes outside (an event was going on). They looked brand new, but didn’t look like BMW’s…anyone got any idea of what they could be? (more supersport like).
When I passed by later to take another look, they were gone.

KTM - you sure it’s the DPG? I’ve seen DPG riding before, but not on anything like these. These bikes didn’t have the yellow/blue fluorescent markings either

Ah - having checked out pics of these, I’d say that’s what they looked like - the Honda VFR 1200F. Pretty slick!
I think I’ve seen those chaps round my way on VFRs usually with a convoy of Range Rovers. They don’t waste time getting to the airport.
pretty sure, and I seem to remember being told that by regular traffic plod some time ago. they were certainly escorting some big black cars down the A40 a couple of weeks ago, doing all that whistle blowing and stopping you at green lights business.
seen a few of these before is this what you sore first time i sore it i was confused thought it someone had just stuck police on the side of there bike at first haha

Escort bikes, no sirens but flashing blues and whistles in their mouths… They are the annoying ones that make you stop in the middle of your journey so that some posh w@nker can get to wherever he/she wants in double time…

I saw these guys yesterday guiding a LONG convoy of cars along Lower Thames street. The lead cars were Chevvy Suburbans with US flags.
vfr 1200s they have had them for awhile and rumour has it they will be rolled out across the fleet for traffc to soon so keep your eyes peeled lol

Have a sort of friend who is ex-DPG. Got out of it as soon as he could as it was the most boring bit of police work he got lumbered with. Said it’s only saving grace was it got him his Inspectorate (no one else wanted the post) and the toys you got to play with.
