New Parts On the Way....

Well…I’ve been pretty stubborn about NOT adding a sissy bar/luggage rack/travel bag to my bike when I’m out on longer rides…but…last fall I took a trip down to the Wichita Mountains around Tahlequa, OK…just wore my backpack…well, 425 miles later my neck was KILLING me.

I ordered a sissy bar, luggage rag and T-Bag over the week-end. I’ll bolt it the rig on for the over the road trips…and bolt it off again for day to day rides.

I’ll post up a few pics once the stuff arrives later this week.

Parts are in…next up…putting them on the bike.

I’ll bolt them on for longer trips…and take them off again when not needed.

Not a bad set up…Cobra Sissy Bar, Cobra Luggage Rack and a T-Bag for storage.

Sell it on Ebay and get a tank bag from Baglux, better weight distribution and you don`t ride round looking like a wuss.

This is what I want on my Sprint, but the rack about suits the cruiser more. Looks decent and pillions love a sissy bar.

From your pics, I think it looks good with the rack and bar on, will make a great difference to you (and any pillion tou take) for those longer trips.

On my trips up home to Scotland (600 miles) I did once wear a rucksack - never again. I used (like Jetstream) a baglux bag and tank cover - was also right handy to lean against at times too ! Can’t recommend them enough.

New bike arrives soon and I’ll be getting a tank cover for that as well (still got my old bag), also need to look at some form of tail pack / panniers but need to do a bit more shopping around to see whats out there.

I did the rucksack thing on a couple of long rides last year…no good…I swore never again on the way home from the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma last fall. My neck and upper back was pretty sore and tired by the time I got the last of the 450 miles in that day.

My daughter has been begging for the sissy bar for some time…she likes to go out and ride with me but she runs out of endurance in her lower back on the long hauls…we took a short ride last night and she said that the new backrest does the business.

All in all, I’m pleased with the new set up.

That is a really good setup, and does not detract from the look of the bike at all, good piece of kit…

People shouted at me when I put a top box on the thundercat, but was one of the most useful additons to the bike ever

ALL HAIL THE TOPBOX :D:D:D:D:D
