New member of the family :)

Looking at another member of LB’s cb500 for sale, I found this on Ebay for £725

Phoned the gentleman right up and offered £650 cash as it had no tax. He accepted and Off Claire and I went to Northampton to collect it.

tax and insurance sorted on his driveway after riding in a circle and kicking a tyre. Both wheels got air in em… great. I’ll take it

Rode back to west London then home to South East London with no drama at all

30000miles on the clocks and we are the 14th owner since 1994. Looked into the fuel tank and it didn’t seem to use any fuel on the journey at all.mmmm mysterious indeed. The King used half a tank :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyhoo. His name is Mr Squishy cause he is a wonky donkey in the corners :w00t::Wow: and we firkin love him! :hehe::smiley: What a laugh!

He will be used as a commuter and shop runner to keep the damage and mileage off ours. He has not been washed yet and might be treated to a service sometime… maybe this year :stuck_out_tongue:

Only problem is, is that I now own a Honda… :crying::sick::laugh:

We were arguing over who got to ride it home too haha. the King or the Squish. I lost…

I love the CB500- they are a great little bike.

Congrats on the new ride.

So basically this is the little bitch for the dirty jobs :hehe:

Nice one

Yup

Ah those were the days. Is the model with the drum brake on the rear? I learned to ride on one of those. The one I rode for 2 years had a rear disc. They are really fun to be honest and shouldn’t get you into too much trouble.

Yea. Drum brake on the rear.

Just cleaned it. Degreaser the heavily caked chain to reveal a lovely DID chain in good condition
Silver hammerite on the front forks to clean them up a bit.

what’s the blue tape covering up?

It was for the clamps for the “chips” windscreen as it was loose. All off now though

as you might not have seen on your facebook wall. make sure you check you can remove the engine bolts first, before you go buying engine bars for it.

Will do
Looking at givi rack and box first. Bars next month
Took it out today. Good fun around town.

why not weld your own rack?

Cause I still need another top box and mounting plate… And I still gotta finish the bkings rack

Just won an ebay auction for a

top box rack

top box mounting plate and a

large 45l top box

£63 delivered! Nice!!!

The Givi racks for these are pretty solid especially the wing rack with the integrated indicators. Engine bars are optional as it’ll slide down the road just fine on it’s engine case.

I don’t think I got the wingrack. I think it’s the regular fitting plate. It came off a '97 bike and mine is a 94-96 model. As far I’m aware the fittings should be fine but I could fabricate something up anyway

I know where there is a nice performance exhaust for one of them

thoroughly enjoyed my time on one of these.

The wing rack is the one which has mounts for panniers too. If you get an after market exhaust it’ll be so loud it will wake the dead and spit flames. If you do that maybe get the carbs re balanced. I’m fairly convinced my one burned so much oil due to the after market exhaust I bought as it never had that problem before. Mind you I wasn’t as precious with her as I am with my new bike.

Not intending on modding the bike at all. Trust me, it’s hard not too :stuck_out_tongue:
I might get renthal bars as the standard bars are quite narrow. Other than that the bike will be just a commuter and it’s fine as it is
