New headlight bulb: £20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the filaments has gone in a headlight on my Honda PCX125. I just called up a dealer to ask if they had any replacements and they’ve told me they’re TWENTY QUID a pop! I can’t believe it, this was supposed to be a cheap runaround so I can spend the money on my proper bike.

Anyone else had to replace one of these? Any cheaper alternatives?

Shocked and disgusted!

I just paid £120 for a frickin bulb for my Lexus. Total ripoff by Halfords but it was during an MOT so I didn’t wanna screw around with it.

Try these guys though - I have used them and found their prices good and service was excellent.

For £20 you can get a Philips brilliance Xtreme bulb.

Where abouts are you? I have several H4 H7 and a couple of others not being used.

Thanks Simon. I checked that website but they don’t seem have this particular type.

Hi Kevsta, thanks. I have an array of Hx bulbs I’ve accumulated over time too but it seems that Honda have developed a specialist bulb for some of their scooters, it’s called an HS5 (stupidly I never took a photo of it this morning when I had it out) and it allows them to rip us all off :frowning:

It is a HS5 bulb whatever that is. It appears Honda have fitted something Ebay has never heard of!

There’s bound to be a cheaper option out there…main bulb on my Vespa LX125 costs just under £15 at a dealer or just under £2 on tinterweb…

ouch abit steep for bulbs !!!

Cheers, I’ll check that out.
