fair enough, still very easy to work out though. I tend to base it on that premise purely because of the fact that what you mention is of course the case, which for me acts like a bit of a buffer, a safety factor if you like.
you could feasibly deduct 3 units from your 11pm total if you started drinking at 8 though, which might mean you are nearly sober by morning, but all those other factors like food, metabolism, efficacy of your liver, etc etc, seem to make that a bit dicey for me.
Holland and Germany are two different countries where you need a passport to travel between the two. Scotland whether they like it or not, remains as part of the UK
YES, same if you were stopped in France for having 70mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood you break the French 50mg limit, get fined, license gets confiscated –> sent back to DVLA who send it back to you as you haven’t broken the UK 80mg limit – but go back to France and the Police Nationale have got your number :unsure:
Art, Germany and Netherlands are Shengen countries so you can travel freely between them without a passport. Crossing the border is exactly like crossing the Scottish border, there is a sign saying the name of the country you are just entering.
Maybe I shouldn’t post after 80 mg of alcohol per 100 litres blood
Germany issues German Driving Licences and German Courts make the Laws relating to them
Holland issues Dutch Driving Licences and Dutch Courts make the Laws relating to them
France issues French Driving Licences and French Courts make the Laws relating to them
The problem Art is highlighting is of English & Welsh residents going in to Scotland without noticing a change in alcohol limit; telling Scottish people that it’s higher across the border wont solve that problem.
We make allowances for people not being 100%. We let them drive a bit tired or a bit ill or young or old or medicated or angry or upset or just generally **** at driving. We set a limit on the level of blood alcohol we will tolerate as a compromise between safety and convenience, as we do with all those other factors. Safest option , stay indoors ,work from home, live off deliverd food .
I’m not sure if your last post is serious or not but here goes anyway;
What you said applies to every forum/chatroom/pub and all other scenarios involving a group/gathering of people as everyone is smarter than the last person, has an opinion which is gospel, always has something more to add or just has to have the last word or type.
If you have something meaningful, heartfelt to say or just want to express a feeling - go ahead and do it - people who ‘have to say something’ will respond on their level, be it silly or demeaning.
People who appreciate your comment and/or share your opinion will respond accordingly and it’s when someone you weren’t expecting to, does, and adds a new perspective to the subject matter, you (well I do) get that that warm/happy feeling inside…
So, now for that zero drink forum post limit - we’re gonna need some geeks from China to design and build us a USB breathaliser… JS, this time next year we’ll be millionaires… :Wow:
