any way I got a pair of new boots these things are like ski boots and seem to have lots more protection than my old sidi boots

Definately Jason, they’re the same boots (Alpinestars SMX) that I’ve used for the last two pairs. They’re brilliant! They are super comfy and can be worn all day, they’re warm, and not too hot in the summer, protect you well (I have crash tested them a couple of times!). The only negative point is that they squeek, but this is easily solved by spraying silicon grease in the hinge area on the ankle, liberally.

I bought exactly the same pair at the NEC show. Agreed, they are comfy, but I am still not sure about having to do that inner bit up all the time. Aiming to use them for racing though as they would appear more sturdy than the GP Pro’s that I usually use.
I’ve used those for a couple of years, top boots!
I’ve tested them in several crashes at around 80MPH or so. Good results. The only thing I found is if you slide into a decent gravel trap at speed feet first, the fastenings at the bottom of the side plates pop off!
