New Bike, Opinions please.

I’m after a new Bike, Going to wait till After the summer as want to get another summer of fun out of this one. I would like to go back to a Litre bike but i’m having so much fun back on a 750 that i’m tempted to just get a newer GSXR 750. I don’t want to drop down to a 600 as i think i’d be a little dissapointed with the performance so 750 is the lowest up to 1000cc

.

Here are my Options. what are peoples thoughts on each bike? (Pro’s Con’s) and also maybe throw in another bike i may have over looked. I don’t really want to be spending more than £5,000 as at the end of the day it is going to be a daily commute too so don’t want to put a really expensive “Toy” through all that.

2007/2008 GSXR750

2005/2006 GSXR1000

2006/2007 CBR1000RR Fireblade

2008/2009 CBR100RR Fireblade

2008 ZX10R

What i want from the bike is a Good bike that will cope with a Commute to the city every day but also a bike that come the weekend can be chucked around the country lanes and put a huge smile on my face. This is why i’m swaying towards an 07/08 GSXR750 as i know how much fun they are and i know how indestructable the Suzuki’s are.

But saying that, a 2008 Repsol Rep Fireblade is Seriously Cool!!!

2005/2006 GSXR1000

Yes, thats where my heart is at the moment, but my head is torn betwen this and the 750

K5 or k6 Gixxer thou - or if you can afford it get a used 899 Panigale!

I WISHED!!! lol. Not sure i would subject such a thing of beauty to a Daily commute through the City!!

race rep + London = stolen. just saying.

I think the Generic colours are more likely to be stolen as they blend in more, a race rep stands out. Thats why i like my Bike as i haven’t seen another Lamborghini Pearl Orange GSXR 750 anywhere (Including Google!!) so would HOPE it’s unlikely to be stolen as it wouldn’t be hard to spot it. I could be completely wrong (it has been known in the past lol)

Blade would probably live longer on the commute that the GSXR, don’t even think about trying to ride through a winter on a Ducati, unless you don’t like having paint on your engine.

I’m loving my 09 Gixxer 750. Plenty of squirt when you need it and easy (relatively speaking of course) to throw around in the corners. You should get an 09 within your budget too.

I think the suzuki may be the more comfortable bike of the lot too. The riding position is nowhere near as aggressive as the zx10 or blade.

Having said that maybe it’s time for a change

I do like your Bike a lot, the exhaust sounds lovely on it. Thats what i would want if i got another 750. I’ve seen a really nice All Black one in my Budget but its an 07.

I see a gsxr with the same colours as your bike I thought it was you but it looked an older version than yours @ gallows corner B&Q last Tuesday morning around 7ish

i asked the bloke that sercived my bike what bike he thought i should get next i wanted a zx12r he said K6 GSXR

so i probably end up with another Triumph lol

That may have been me, i was at Gallows Corner Halfords last tuesday. Did it have a Blue Seat unit rather than Orange? I now have a Blue back end tilll i get the respray done

didn’t see the seat cover was 7am ish & i was zoom zooming London bound & the said bike was north bound (Essex Proper) & i don’t go round looking at blokes arses to determine what colour it is

lol. and there was me thinking everyone checked out my Back Side!!

Probably wasn’t me at 7am then as doubt Halfords was Open then.

I went from a K6 600 to an 600RR8 and enjoyed the whole new feel of a Honda, I would say get a blade they seem to be slightly cheaper as there is more of them about but there is a bit of a bias there.

I have a friend that is selling a black K6 750 if your interested I can get the details from him.

I want at least K7 as mine is K4 so it wouldn’t feel much newer. (I know they are the same bike but to me the newer reg will make it feel newer lol) Plus i’m not looking till after summer so he probably wants it gone sooner

I never realy caught the 600cc bug i did try one once & it didn’t suit me

prefer the 1000cc bikes (ok mine is a 955)

if you like suzies stick with them get a gizzer thou

you will always say if only if you don’t try it

i brought my 955i brand new in 2001 i love the way it rides its never going to set the world on fire & wont win any races but it suits me down to the ground

in between i also had an R1 sold it after 6 months didn’t like it

i had a tl100r loved it once you get used to the handling but alas i sold it im kicking myself now

never had a blade had go on a few they are good but never really took to them

i did try a zx10r when they first came out again didn’t like it

i had TDM’s for commuters but when the last one went pop i dragged the 955 out of the garage & have been using it daily for 18months now & love it

Same with me, i had a Gixxer 600SRAD and that lasted a matter of Months before i got bored and traded it in for a 750 (My First one) My Blade (929cc) was awesome, i loved the power of it and it was a real monster but it just lacked something the 750 had and thats why i went back to a 750. This one i have now is possibly the biggest grin machine i’ve owned, it handles like a dream and goes like a rocket!!

The only thing stopping me from saying no to another 750 and just getting the Thou is the fact its a commuter bike too, will i be adding more expense to my already expensive commute? I love how the 750 swaps from nice commuter to Hooligan in the twist of a wrist! i think the Thou will be Hooligan 99.9% of the time
