And a great opportunity to REALLY get your head round the lingo - at least you’d know what to say to the police next time you’re stopped for something similar!
I crap my self every time I go back to US having left without paying my final years state and federal taxes. Think I owed about $2k if I remember my HR block filing correctly.
Still I guess that Bush has bigger fish to fry nowadays
Just spoken to a mate over here in Spain who got caught speeding going to last years MOTOGP in Valencia at 175mph ish, he got escorted to the cashpoint and relieved of E600[£450] no points, no threat of jail, no ban etc. Nice.
Norway is not tolerant of recreational speeding, but having ridden there, I kind of accept it is not really a place for sportsbikes. Due to the damage caused by the hard frosts means the road surface can be very changeable, rain moves gravel/grit patches and there are massive Elg [moose] that suicidally jump out of the forests into your path . . . . . and a government that sticks +£10,000 tax on a new R1, meaning a 1998 model is still going to cost you around £9,000 . . . . so get your thrills off road, it is way more fun.
If you dont have the E600, they impound your bike/car till you pay, then you get it back. He stopped because he didnt think they had caught him. He has got caught at several roadside speedtraps but just does one, the Mossos D Esquadra [Local replacement for Guardia Civil that do traffic] have 2.0 TDS Passats that would struggle to catch a well ridden CX500 . . . .
I still use my UK plated bike & licence, as a “Stoopeed Engleesh Tourista who speaks leetle Spanish” cough cough …you usually just get a little finger wagging, however, when I am in England I would prefer a Spanish plate & licence . . .
