Nervous like school days...

I got two interviews this afternoon, both final round and I’ve not had nervousness like this since exam days. I’m trying to relax and calm down but the pressure I’ve put on myself is overwhelming at the minute. Gone out to look at my motorbike to ease the nerves.

The first interview is a panel with a workoholic manager, demanding trader and the person doing the role. I think once I am in the first few minutes and gauge how it’s going I’ll be able to settle down.

Any advice before? Came onto LB to get my mind off the interviews…

Try to see this as a meeting (bit like turning up at a bike meet) and smile.

When they talk to you, instead of thinking about the nerves, break the questions down into bits and answer…easy.

REMEMBER: they already like you… they have invited you back. You are one of a few that they would like to work for them.
:D:D

OOOH Good luck hope it goes well for ya;)

First one is internal so already know the panel. Got 1/3 probability of getting the job.

Don’t know what my odds are for the latter one but it’s a final round in a coffeeshop that’ll be 30minutes.

Best of luck:)

Thanks guys. Nervous are relaxing. Think it’s time to stop cramming and just focus and take a breather again.

Good luck Raquib.

Remember ur a top guy  Smile and all will be good

  • Assume they know nothing about you or what you have done/are capable of.

  • Do not worry about going over stuff you think they may already know about you.

  • Do not undersell yourself as you are concerned if their view of what you have done (from them working with you) is different from your own.

Internal interviews can be very hard as it’s easy to undersell yourself or miss off telling them some vital piece of experience which can sway the decision. I’m talking from the experience of both the interviewer and interviewee.

Of course, you may already know all this and I’m preaching to the converted!

Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

imagine them naked

the interviews will be easy just look forward to getting to my work after to finally having your bike fixed and ready for a blast

good luck

+1
but dont stare!!

It’s 4 blokes so rather not :sick::smiley:

The less you worry the better your chance is.

Relax… Think: “WHATEVER…”

And you’ll get it.

no matter how u feel show confidence . best of luck

Good luck!! Interviews can be very nerve wracking. After I got back from Afghanistan I thought I’d get a job easily - but it has taken nearly 6 months to finally get a good one - at last!! So I feel for you!

What I found helped in securing this post was looking through the entire job description and thinking of lots of examples of when I had done similar tasks in previous jobs. I read a lot about the organisation, their strategy, their values etc and tried to think of examples of how my own values tied in. I also think it helps to believe that they are lucky to have you, that you can bring something unique to the job that no other candidate can. Also thinking of times you solved problems creatively and worked in diverse teams and examples of effective planning, management, using initiative etc - there are some skills that are common to all jobs. These days with the recession it does pay to fully prepare for interviews and try and remember everything you have done in the past which will be relevant to this role.

GOOD LUCK:D

Kick off in 4 minutes
