need some help

Hi all,

thought i would see if any of you lot could help.

i have a 06 CBR 6 rr and i m having seriouse probs with it.

there is one wire coming from the bottom of the ignition which runs down the left side of the bike ( sitting on the bike) and under the tank fairing.

Now, when i toch it or move the handle bars the the bike loses power.

on off sort of thing. it only take a light touch.

i do not know bike mechanics that well but i thought that all i would need to do is change the wire.

but someone told me that i cant do that, i would need to change the ignition swith aswell as its all connected.

is this right?

if so, is it expensive and how long roughly would it take to change.

Hi Kempo,

The wire could be there more many reasons, all of which are not really important.

We just have to figure out if it is positive or neagative and which signal/s its carrying.

Im happy to have a quick look F.O.C. if your around my area, to help ypu figure out what your dealing with.

have you got a haynes manual or can you find your models wire diagram…? that should help identify the wire
