My boots, SMX-5’s, are about three years old…
The top half of them is still totally fine, butI’ve worn the soles right down and there’s actually a hole in one of them.
Needless to say they’re no longer waterproof! :crying:
Does anyone know a place that might be able to stick a new sole onto each boot? I’m hoping I don’t have to send them off to Italy for factory repair…
The boots are still good to use so I don’t really want to have to buy a new pair if the soles can be replaced.

They’ve got that fancy wrap-around sole on them but I might just go down to the local cobblers and see if they can just bodge a standard sole onto them instead…

I’m yet to rind a place that can re sole them or even where to get the replacement soles from
Try these people, not sure if they could do a bike boot but you never know.
Have used them many times before and they do a great job.
On yer bike can send them back to Alpinestars in Italy for a resole. Tell them Road Captain sent you.
Or I could send them to Italy myself to save myself the brokers fee…
I was hoping they wouldnt have to go to Italy though, a repair shop in the UK would be nice…
i tryed to get my alpinestars re soled tryed loadsa places ended up throwing them away as could not find anywhere and wasent safe to wear anymore…
Yeah I seem to be going the same way as you Dan… Looks like my only option is to send them off to Italy. They’ve gone there before for repair and it cost me £18 shipping, so it will be the same again this time + the cost of the resole. By the time I’ve done that I’m thinking I may as well just fork out for a new pair… More money I don’t have lol

Had my Sidi’s re done by a little place in West Daryton though he takes his time and hasn’t yet learnt to smile or talk to Customers nicely… to be fair he did a good job and at £25 I’m not really complaining!

Trouble is, my boots have a sort of wrap around sole that goes up the back of the heel. I’ll try that place in Ealing though, cheers!

really? Most sidi dealers have them, I got them for my black rain’s.
downside is they need vulcanising to the boot, not just glueing. I couldn’t find a place that was willing to do that.
