My top tip # 3

Dont know about you but my motorcycle boot soles wear thin very very quickly and it doesnt seem to matter if you’ve got an expensive or a cheap pair - the upper looks pristine while you’re slowly poking through the bottom!

You could: Pay loadsa money and have them done properly and pray they dont put thick soles on that’ll cause you to adjust your gear and brake pedals

OR…

Go to any old cobblers, pay £2 quid for some off cuts of thin rubber (did this on Old Street today) and stick them on yourself. With what? well you could spend the £5 on epoxy resin and be left with more than you used or you could get yourself down to the nearest pound shop and buy a cycle tyre repair kit for £1 (that was obvious) and stick them on yourself. The glue in the kit is specifically designed to melt rubber on rubber so it should be good enough for the soles of your boots!!!

Total spend = £3!!!

I’ll let you know how long my last:D

Kevstar should give that a try too, he was wingeing about his soles splitting the other wk :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve had boots re-soled at the cobblers for about £30

exactly - my boots cost £75 but i bought them for £29.99 and i’ll be damned if im paying their worth again just to re-sole them! :-):stuck_out_tongue:

Have you ever wondered why they wear out quicker than usual shoes/boots?

Maybe its because when you stop on your bike and put one foot down, you really want as much grip as you can get… or R&G’s:w00t::smiley:

Sidi Black Rain Evos - been wearing them for just over a year, covered 17,000 miles+ and the right sole still has the SIDI sign written in yellow on it!!!

Weird - Afro’s Sidi wore out straight away!!!
cHUNKEY - I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT GRIP BUT THERE COMES A POINT WHEN THEY’RE TAKING THE PI$$!!!..AND i THINK 3500 MILE IS TAKING THE PI$$

That’s cos there Sidi Vertigo Corsas…Race boots…And Race riders aren’t supposed to walk around much apparently

Pick ya feet up Fro;)

i thought they wore out from all the pushing!:D:P

STFU! :DYou’re still on your original boots bought in the 60s

Funnily enough I have exactly the same boots as you m8, just in better condition;)

Errrrr you’re telling an Italian that the corsas are for races? WHat do you think corsa means mo fo!?:stuck_out_tongue:

They have the same life as those worn by Italian riders in Italy then ;)Except they’ve been used more often on the bikes ridden by our friends overseas.

Mine aint full of sand either;)

…got me some of those too - but not for the daily commute, just track and blatting about:D:D:D

Or your feet much

Think that’s the best use for them

Perhaps a silly question, but have you tried using your brakes rather than boots?

i think quality leather hiking boots are far superior to those motorcycle boots for riding protection and comfort, probably cheaper too

Yeah, O.K. up to a point. Certainly better value for money, but the up to a point comes where hiking boots stop, just above the ankle at best. Not a lot of shin protection.
