Well after 6 weeks, I am now finally back on the Gixer. A new K8 750 in black.
I have the dual exit can on order and I have the smaller plate at home drilled and ready to go on. Also I am waiting for the Black double bubble screen.
I went for a quick zip after work and wow what a difference!! Well, Ok its not leaps and bounds different to the K7 I had before but does feel very smooth. The gears flow really well and the power even on run-in speeds are very pleasing.
It dawned on me when I was out on the K8 that I was not only getting a replacement to my stolen bike, I’m getting the refinements that Suzuki have worked on to top the excellent K7 750.
The bike seems a little quieter from the can maybe and there seems to be various whizzing and almost dump value dropping noises when you accelerate which are pleasure to hear.
All in all Im a happy camper, I hope you enjoy the pics…
And yes this bike will be hiked up the stairs every morning next to my desk… :hehe: I will be using the underground ‘secure’ parking from now on only.
The can is alot better in real life, when you see it for real the shape is much smaller as its tapered or some other word that describes what Im trying to say…
Anyway its going as soon as the carbon one arrives…
Thanks matey! Yeah the blue and white is still the fastest {cough cough}
So tell me about rim tape? I hear that you have an opinion on this matter. (this was written before I read your ‘shame’ apology)
Hello, Its an R&G Tail tidy, It has a cool blue led light also. Sadly I can’t tell you exactly how its fitted as I got it part of the deal fitted when i picked up the bike.
There is I believe no drilling required. There are to bolts that go onto the bike pretty much where the stock reg holders screw in. They did cut the number plate light to add the led light for the tail tidy. I think that would be the only thing you would have to cut from the original parts.
I have a few bits to add today so I’ll take a picture of the underside of the tidy.
hhhhhahahahahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahaaah!!! Lets just call it a replacement light to the stock number plate light then shall we… ;);) No rim tape for me I have seen the light!
I got the R&G tail tidy for my K7 and the LED light is flickering constantly…pain in the backside. Now West London Suzuki wont replace it. Have to pay for the parts which may be broken…W@nK!
Really? That doesn’t seem right? I have never dealt with them so could not comment but i remember it. Could it just be a loose connection to the wiring?
