My New Bike - 3 months after my first off!

Went down to Southampton today to pick up my new ride.

Kawasaki er6f 2006. Picked it up for £2300, with 11,000 on the clock. Today was the first time ive been back on a bike since my first off a few months ago where I went piling into a BMW’s boot!

Was quite a tough ride back today. Loadsa motorway riding, cold wind, and patches of rain. New bike maybe, but still couldn’t wait to get home and warm!..

Well after less than a day, I’ve realised I’m going to buy some aftermarket sports handlebars. I’m not a big fan of how the handlebars sit (bit too high for my liking). Found somewhere in America that ships them. Would Kawsaki dealers fit it for me if I turn up with it, or is there cheaper places?

Its great to be back and riding again. I’ve already learnt a lot from my last off. The gap between me and the car in front has now increased substantially, and im very cautious about it! Either way, love my new bike!!

Dawn will be pleased!

Nice bike, I like them too

I’m sure someone on here would help you fit bars too, depending where you are…

Cheers!

I’m based in London Bridge. I was going to go to my first ever Borough High Strt Meet, but binned my bike the week before, lol! Anyways, now I actually have 2 wheels again, will defo make it for a meet soon!

Yes, I am pleased, it is the same as mine, even got similar mileage!

Have made a few mods to mine though!

The first modification that you require, if it is not already fitted is mirror extenders

Worth every penny

unless you like filtering

Can still filter, as the top box needs the extra space!

:stuck_out_tongue:

:hehe:

If I remember right, it wasn’t your distance from the car in front, it was your position? Keep somewhere near the tyre line, then if you cant brake in time, you can at least swerve

Congrats, that’s a beautiful piece of design

Alex

As usual, I have no idea what you are going on about!

lol. Wasnt this the guy who went into the back of a bmw at the blackwall tunnel? He thought the car had a gear problem and the brake lights didnt come on? But was too central to the car and flew into the back of it.

Glad he’s alright and back on two wheels though…

Good choice mate, welcome to the ER6f club!

Ah got you now, yes I believe that he was

yeeep that guy is indeed me!

yeh my distance was sufficient, but was indeed too central. Now I’m hardly ever central, and always have an last resort escape route in the back of my mind!..Taxing concentration, but well worth it!!

Anyways, thanks guys, yeeh love the new bike. Incidentally it came with mirror extensions (guy before me did it)!

My first priority is getting rid of that DAMN top box…i cant sleep at night because of it, lol!. And whats worse, I rounded off one of the allen bolts with a cheap allen key when I tried to remove it the other day. Left the rest so wouldn’t make it worse, but prob gonna take it to a garage to take off…thats how desperate I am.

Anyways, I guess after top box removal my priority list is:

  1. R&G Sliders
  2. Sports Handlebar
  3. Perhaps an exhaust of some sort.

Anyway, first things first…need to ditch the pizza delivery boy look, lol!

Just traded my ER6F - seriously chuckable and enjoyable bike

Enjoy!
