my new Arai

I also posted this in the praise-shame section…:ermm:I bought a new Arai RX7 Corsair a couple of weeks ago or so. Wore it for the 3rd time last Sunday,(still using my old one on daily basis) all happy about the new and comfy lid…til I have decided to give it a proper clean and polish and put it back in its bag. That’s when I noticed that the chin spoiler had come loose on one side. Tried to click it back but it doesn’t seem to hold onto anything and once I try to pull it down it comes out. Now what are my options with this lid? Do I take it back to the Hein Gericke shop I bought it from? I haven’t got the box to it but got the manual and the receipt…went there on bike so had to leave its box behind. Is it a problem? Any suggestions, advice? Thanx for reading it…it is a bit annoying, at the end of the day it is a new crash helmet and for that price I expect perfection

take it back to the shop i am sure they will sort it out for you, take the receipt with you.

Hein Gericke are generally very good so i wouldn’t have any issues taking it back for them to resolve the problem.

Good luck

thank you guys, appreciate it:) will take it back probably tomorrow, hope the fact that i don’t have the box will not become an issue…

You are covered by the consumers act so take it back and explain to them what happened was not through any fault of yours.

They are legally obliged to repair, replace or refund (normally a credit note).

Good luck

Let us know how it goes…

hi cheeky, all arai helmets come with a 5 year warranty, you can also return the helmet to the selling dealer every 6 months for a service for the warranty period, what design is it and how much did it cost you ? curious thats all!!

As it’s a faulty item, you don’t need the packaging - you don’t even need a receipt for faulty goods, but it often makes things smoother - definitely go and have a chat with them - they’re obliged to help you out and generally will be willing to do so.

If they offer you a credit note, they have to by law offer a refund.

With helmets and other safety gear it does get a little grey, as they have no idea whether it has been used and is therefore not fit to be resold.

However they should be able to repair it or replace the chin spoiler, if they are an Arai 5 Star dealer should be able to sort it out in house.

No matter where you bought your lid, as long as its an official UK lid (not a cheap import) take it to any Arai 5***** dealer and I’m sure they will sort it for you FOC:cool:

+1 I’ve never had any problems with Hein Gericke.

hey guys, thanx for your posts, advice and concern:) took it back this afternoon, explained what happened, the guy took the cheek pads out, checked it out and said they’d send it back to be fixed, no questions asked:D lovely people they are:cool: im going to put a post in the praise-shame section:D

You already did:D
