[rant]After ten years (about) of happy Arai ownership, I bought a new Arai Condor last April. It mists up at the first sign of damp or cold and it must be the worst lid I’ve ever bought. In the rain at night I know I am going to hit something sooner or later – I just can’t f’king see! [/rant]
[rant again]The vents are impossible to operate with gloves on …[/rant again]
[stop him someone]… and is it noisy or what??? [/OK he’s stopped]
[aagh!!] and I payed well over the effin’ odds [/aagh]
I have an Arai Condor and I too seem to remember it misting up easily. I bought a clear pinlock insert. Best money i’ve ever spent (well almost!;))
Can close my visor when i get on the bike and dont open it till 15 miles later when i get to work. Heartily recommended.
I have a pinlock insert - it’s not exactly optically clear although it does stop the misting. I took it out as its lack of clarity was almost as bad as misting in the first place.
I’m going to buy an Arai breath guard that fits inside the helmet. See if that makes a difference…
My Astro-R just broke on me today in traffic!! Left hand panel covering the visor mount came away while riding and as a result I can’t attach a visor. Pinlock insert worked great until this unique unmisting incident
Any idea what my rights are in terms of returns as it’s less than a year old, has been treated with care and I’ve had no offs.
I took mine to Infinity Hanger Lane where Kerry replaced both pods for me. She nicked them off a brand new lid rather than order them for me. My lid is well out of warranty but still got 5*****+ treatment:cool:
It’s worth it just to see Kerry do her magic wiggle when she adjusts the visor fitting;)
