right my '03 CBR600F has a bog standard can
now i have come back from my first ride out with LBers, i fully appreciate that it sounds like a kitten being throttled in a sound proof chamber at the bottom of my garden, its 8hite! :crying:
i have zero idea about decent exhausts, can you please give me some pointers?
faceslider’s tuono sounds amazing and i know i wont get anything like that sound out of a honda, and i’m not expecting too obviously, he is a 8astard ;)
i am after a slip on (assume dyno etc is therefore not required), preferably with removable baffles, and i need it to sound better, damn it :w00t:
To be honest mate I am with Ducati Pete on this one, for that bike, get yerself on ebay, you can pick up a nice sweet sounding one for next to no money.
Arrow are nice cans, but if you just want to make a noise, blueflame are loud, or renegade are very loud http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhUREIfaUp8. I had a remus on my 636, that sounded lovely
just seen the scorpion street extreme cans; phwoaar!
look at how it dramatically changes the look of this SV:
granted mine is a CBR600F but that massive standard can will be gone and the scorpion sounds nice on youtube
unfortunately have heard that some cutting of OEM pipes may be required, although scorpion do supply a replacement section of OEM pipe to allow reattachment of original can
hmmm, its out of my budget but might be worth waiting a few months for
I’m with Ducati Pete on this one too. Also give Yoshimura a look in. I’ve got a Yoshi GP force on mine that I picked up on ebay for under £200 brand new (retail is ~£460 WTF!). If you keep a look out on ebay a bargain is bound to come up; just be patient mate. I know it’s hard when you see all the tricked out bikes other people have got but you’ll get there one bolt on at a time!
Also regarding the power commander and custom map it is entirely up to you. People will tell you that unless you do this your bike will be running lean and you’ll blow a hole in your engine! Don’t listen to them. My RR was running rich with the Yoshi pipe and stock fuel map anyway! I had it dynoed yesterday and can say it definitely makes a noticeable difference in making throttle response more smooth and predictable, which inspires that bit more confidence accelerating, coming off the gas, and keeping a constant throttle round corners etc. It really depends on how much you wanna throw at it though, and typically modern Hondas have near-flawless fuel injection stock so…
If you were concerned about the effect on the fuelling you could have a dyno run and A/F ratio done when you install the pipe and the dyno technician could then advise you if your fuelling is way off. I can recommend HM Racing in Orpington, Kent. I can’t see them pushing you into it; they are booked up weeks ahead as it is!
Look forward to seeing the bike once you’ve pimped it out!
I read the topic title and thought it must be a thread by Ginger :D:D:D:D
… He did make us laugh the weekend trying to rev the arse off his Bandit around all the bigboys/girls bikes, it sounded pathetic
I bought my 600F with the standard can on it but my mate had bought a Carbon Can which he included with it and when I got that put on it made a huge difference to the sound…
In fact it was through a google search for Carbon Can Co that I came across LB.com - a post in the praise section came up in the results:)
