Hey,
I use my 1997 (good condition, low millge) cbr600f every day. General use and obviously a good ride when im free.
One morning, full battery, full tank, generally a good starter, it didnt start. ran the battery flat trying to start. That night I took out the plugs. they seemed ok but gave them a clean and re-gapped them. it had a good strong turn over. just the revs didnt kick in…
im gutted. i think maybe the full pump, but how to test?
any other ideas?
im pretty handy with the mechanics and general stuff but this has got me stumped.
thanks for the help.

Sorry, just seen this one. I had a similar problem on my previous CBR, fuel pump was failing and had killed the fuel relay. I connected the pipes direct to bypass the pump and feed by gravity, got me around until a new pump and relay arrived. The pump should squirt petrol a few feet if you try it unconnected to the carbs, as long as it’s coming through from the tank OK.
maybe water has got into the engine cutoff switch or you could try spraying the starter relay with wd40
Wouldn’t that stop it turning over at all? Fuzzp06, check for a spark as well, turn it over with a plug out and earthed.
