My CB passed MOT

Hi people.

Just want to let you know that my bike is already finished and today passed MOT without any problems. The rebuilding started 2 months ago and yesterday ended on putting new brake discs. I will post a lot of pictures showing the stages of rebuild. If there will be a good weather on wednesday there is possibility that i will come on BMM. The subject of rebuild was Honda CB 350SG 1986 my first bike which is my pride and joy as well as my beloved CBR 600F

This is how the bike looks before

Nice One

Looking great … bet you are chuffed she looks so good now, hard works always pays off …

(just the front mudguard to paint perhaps )

I wanted to do it but unfortunately the screw keeping mudguard has broked so if i would like to do it i will need to drill it and other thing is that i havent’t got more time because next week the bike is going with me to Poland and will stay there. The screws are always the weakest point of all old bikes and thats why working on them makes them so special because you never know what can f*cked There are few things that i will change when it will stay in Poland (now i don’t have time), one will be new speed cables (both)and new switch sets. Oh and new screws for brake disc , wanted to order it but my local Honda dealer didn’t have them on the stock and they will need to order it which will take too long and i needed to do MOT as soon as possible

quality!! bet your well happy

Nice one Warblade, is this your first rebuild?

A word of caution though… I notice you have a braided brake hose with alloy banjo (The red one)

This should not be used on road bikes, they are meant for race use only as they are not as strong as steel fittings. I don’t mean to scare you but i would hate your’s to fail just when you need your brakes

Also looking at the picture of the master cylinder it looks like you have used the original banjo bolt as it looks a bit used. Please tell me i am mistaken

Yes it’s my first rebuild because it was my first bike. No worries i still got old handle bar and steal hose to install. I only used cevlar one to passed MOT but when i will get back to old handle bar and new switch kit i will install steal one. Thx for advice anyway.

That is good to know.

I think I will post some pictures of failed Alloy Banjos to show what happens to them when used on road bikes.

They may look “Bling Innit” but someday could fail just when you need to brake hard

Looks good though mate.

Why is it going to Poland? Are you moving there?
