My Bike got Stolen

Woke up this morning and looked outside the window and saw that mt cbr 600 was not there. Neighbour said she heard alarm at about 1 am. I had only third party insurance because I did not think any one would steal such a old bike. I dont know to laugh or cry I am numb

So sorry to hear this mate, looks like the start of the nicking season…

Did you have many people come to look at it when you were selling it? might have been some of them.

Also post up the details, reg plate, frame number, colour and we can all keep our eyes peeled for ya.

Sorry to hear this - keep an eye on ebay and classifieds too.

:frowning:

Sorry to hear the bad news, something i dread, every morning i wake up first thing i do is look out the bedroom window, to make sure the bike is still there (

Sorry to her that fella :frowning:

Every time I hear of this happening I’m glad I have a garage (and a GS500 :Whistling: )

:frowning:

Sorry to hear that. Just goes to show that even old bikes are targets for thieves, not just new ones. Hope it gets recovered as has happened with other bikes.

Really shitty news mate, sorry to hear that. What was it secured with other than the alarm?

Gutted for ya mate. I have the same bike and like you I assume no one will ever bother to nick it as it’s old. Really hope you get it back.

sorry to hear that :frowning:

Sorry to hear this Easyrider.

There is a lesson for all of us here. TPO cover sucks:angry:

AND Old bikes get nicked as often as new’uns

Can only voice what others are saying…it dont matter nowdays what state/age our bikes are, the 16 plus will nick ur old one for messing about on, just as well as the older guys who nick bikes for trackdays etc, or to get parts off for their own bikes they have binned or something, cos they cant be asked to look on ebay like the rest of us do…or of course the ones that go on the look out for new bikes, stolen to order…Trackdays are starting up and our bikes are targets again, so be careful where you leave everything on two wheels you own, cos it will get nicked.

Sorry to hear about someones bike going though…always hate it when i see these threads…and thing is, we seem to accept it cos theres no help is there really, as u say 3rd party is **** pot all good to us…know its not same but its a bit like going into a restaurant and buying bottled water that we think is the best thing to drink and finding its the same as tap water…ie, 3rd party is not worth the money we pay for it…unless someone else hits u and u have them agree its their fault (with TPFT of course)…which they dont do nowdays till its gone through solicitors for months on end while youre waiting with no bike !! Then you lose your no claims, if u havent paid extra for it to be protected…oh the list goes on…

Blimey when you think about it? us bikers sure pay our a whole lotta dosh !!! plus ive got a bluddy car as well like most of us…no wonder we will never be rich !!

Sorry, back to thread…know how you feel and sorry youve had to wake up to it…hope whoever took it gets aids…and i dont mean the charity donation kind!

Sorry to hear this, you might be lucky and get her back pronto!
They obviously took her because they knew about the power of a Honda

Fingers crossed.

I know that feeling and you have my sympathy. My bike went from the works car park.

Folks. Use this as a wake up call. Like the man said, it’s the start of the nicking season again.

My bike had a half decent disclock but a can of freezing spray and a hydraulic nut splitter was all it needed to beat that. On reflection, the Datatool marking was pointless.

I have forgotten the statistics, but reportedly, bikes are a lot more likely to be stolen than cars (by % on the road) and the recovery rate is even lower. We all end up paying for that through our insurance. Home and work are the prime targets as we can’t avoid regularly parking the bike there.

“Sold secure” chains and locks may be expensive but might save you money in the long run. Alarms only deter the casual thief.

Oldguy.

Oldguy

Guess that where im lucky, cos we have proper bike sheds for both motor and pedal bikes…and CCTV plus security guards, and gates that are manned that let you in and out of plant…bit like a government secure organisation…but believe me, weve had HUGE items nicked from here in the past so theres a reason for all this security…but means my bikes parked safe while im inside working…feel for you guys that dont have the same secure parking…must admit i would think twice about taking bike to work if that were the case…anyone you work with could cop your bike and phone a mate and tell em to come and get it…oh yeh it happens !!!

Sorry to hear about the theft. Hope the little $hit$ get what is coming to them.

sorry to hear this matey, what barstewards!! im just thankful for having a garage now…

not another one! :frowning:

Bad news and bad luck, Easyrider.

TPO is a tough break as well. TPFT next time. Not that what you get offered won’t make you shed a tear also.

Cheer up. If you don’t get it back, maybe they’ll break their little Herbert necks on it.

Dt

Sorry to hear and gutted for you
