My Bandit 1200 Rat bike

So this is my ride of choice, a 2006 Bandit 1200.
I bought it off a guy who racked up 75,000 miles commuting all year round from the midlands to London… hence the mileage and rot/tattyness.
Despite that the bike runs like new and it should considering its sat at 3000rpm in 5th its entire life!

In the past 3 months i have made some changes from stock.

Ditched the stock exhaust system and replaced with a lookalike japanese yoshimura GSX1400 cyclone system
Installed GSXR 1000 K6 rear shock
GSXR1100k cams dialed in (correctly, more about that later in the shame section)
GSXR1100k gearing (3 teeth more on the rear sprocket over the bandit)
Stage 3 dynojet and pod filters
Header wrap

Shes gone from 101bhp to 129bhp… 30% more power and its pretty mental to ride.

It should be making more than 129bhp because cylinder 2 and 3 have low compression thanks to the inlet cam being installed incorrectly and causing a wee bit of damage to the valves or seat :frowning:
Which i will bring up in the shame section later on.

Anyway its loud as ****, need to put a baffle in that exhaust as its nick-ably loud and obviously get the head sorted out with new valves.
Question is if its losing a fair bit of compression in 2 cylinders… how much more power can it put out!?

Nice Bandit! Thinking of getting a used 12 myself - my first bike was a 600 bandit back in the 90’s - really tough bikes.

I thought my commute was tiring but midlands to London on a bike day in day out! :w00t:

In order to cheer myself up i decided to finish painting the headers and exhaust can in matt black heat proof paint.

I think it looks 10X better now.

What do you think?

Its a copy of the Yoshimura Cyclone straight exhaust system for the GSX1400, only released in Japan.
I have the correct sticker on its way and also will weld the mount onto the exhaust and repaint again so its even closer to the real thing.
