My aborted southend run

Sorry I didn’t make it. I was at the back when we were blapping down the north circ and I got caught at the traffic lights just before the staples corner fly over. I tooted and flashed me lights but I realised no one had noticed. After the lights changed I shot off and tried to catch up but there was no hope so after about 10 mins I had decision time:

Ride to south end on me own.

Turn back go to the ace.

So I turned back and went to the ace.

I also rememebered shortly afterwards that I had to take my old man to the airport early next morning so I didn’t stay out late.

I did however attempt to follwow Jay to Soho for a little ride. It’s the first time I have seen a K5 go and oh my does it fly. It’s not even funny how fast he managed to dissapear into the distance!

Sorry about that m8, mind you were all got split in to two groups any way.

Me and Stan wondered what happened to ya when we got there. Glad to see your ok.

Yes, I have been ‘following’ Jay on his K5 before . And then he says on thread ‘How we ride’ than he’s not fast on the road… Yeah! Right!

No worries mate.

Sorry we missed you! The ride down with a bit chaotic with a detour to Sonic’s house for some odd reason . Too many stops along the way. However, the ride back was fun, despite the fact that the police managed a group pull-over. I saw them in my mirrors and couldn’t stop the boys in time! Eeek!

I am usually less confident around riders I don’t. I can always count on the usual group to keep an eye out in front and avoid cutting you up, but we have had some dodgy people join us on occasion. It was absolutely lovely to meet MilleMonster, Stan, Andrew, etc., and I thoroughly enjoyed riding with y’all! I hope that you will join us again, but let’s get the route planned ahead of time.

Yellow sorry to hear m8, Stan and I ended up going there on our own we both stopped at the 1st Garage for Petrol but some how got there 20 mins before any one else. It was a good ride back and has Brooke said everybody rode well no cutting up and riders you could depend on. Looking forward to doing it again soon. Some great characters

Those kind of rides are always tricky trying to keep everyone together.

Aye it wer fun, and considering it was a bit ‘lastminute.com’ the fact that anybody got there in sight of another bike was a miracle.

But we do need to organise the run a bit more so if people get left behind then they know where we’re going, and update our personal photos (mine’s not entirely accurate) so we recognise each other !!

So where next ??

Was good fun riding with you all.

I understand were your comming from Brooke, the last mass ride out I went on I was getting cut up left right and centre. Also have to say that’s a great looking Blade you have there.

With ya on that Andrew, when the next one?

Cheers, MilleMonster! One of my friends at the Ace, Matt, adjusted the supension on Saturday, so it feels like a different bike. I also had a counter-steering revelation, so I am dropping it into the silliest of bends right now because it is so much fun!

Yes, I have been on ride outs where other bikers filter past me while I am filtering past cars, despite the fact that there are bikes jockying for position both in front and behind. Grrrrr! As I said, y’all were fab and I will look forward to the next outing.

Brooke … was gonna ask if Matt got your suspenders sorted on Saturday… but thought it a bit forward

Wonder if he’d look at mine LOL …just gotta get them washed.

Glad you’re fettled. Countersteering is strange and scary at the start. And many will weight the pegs, move hips, drop shoulders, turn head etc… at the same time for added effect. Falling off the bike completely has a very immediate turning effect, but is clearly not good for ‘making progress’ as they say.

Cheeky! Counter-steering is fab, but I never felt consistent until one of the guys said to push my elbows out a bit…boom…it is frighteningly consistent now. Everyone seems to have their own way of riding, so I just listen until I find the method that works for me! I shall work on the posing aspects of counter-steering later. Hopefully, I’ll keep up in style one day!
