Multi bike insurance?

Those of you with more than one bike, do you have the bikes under one policy or separate ones?

I’m trying to get quotes for my current bike, as well as for the current one and my possible addition, and Carole Nash came up with just one policy (at around £630 for comprehensive cover, but with £250 excess on the first bike and £200 on the next one), and eBike insurance came up with about £600 but with no excess at all. But that’s it, Carole Nash told me most insurance companies don’t do multibike policies, so I’d have to get individual ones at £500 per bike!

Any experience of adding bikes to the policy? My insurance runs out at the end of this month, so before I’ll be buying another bike, so I’d have to get a single policy for the current one and then add the possible new one to that. Am I likely to get the multi policy premium quoted now (generally, how long are the quotes valid for?) or do I risk getting shafted by having to take a separate policy for the new bike?

I am with Carol Nash they were good to me even before I took out the trade policy E.G. The ZX9 for £246.00 and a ZXR750 for £25 on top both TFT most companies will work of the highest priced bike and the lowest as a second bike.

Hi Paivi, try ebikeinsurance. I’m sure they do multibike policies. You can also add other riders to your policy, I put Chuff on and they didn’t charge me a sausage.

I am with Carole Nash and think they are great. Should any one from there see this post you can PM me so I can give you details for any discount. (Just Kidding)

Give them a go for a quote.

I have multi bike insurance and am with Carole Nash as well. I was not aware that anyone else did this, well not a few years back when I took it out.

ive had multibike with cofield (now express insurance) always been cheapest for me, they are quite cool with taking bikes on and off if you like to swap about bikes/put mates on your policy etc, personally ive found carol nash to always be quite expensive, but im (was?) young with convictions and 1000cc bikes

How’s this for a result?

Last month a multi-bike policy with Carol Nash was 640 quid.

The main bike is up for renewal this month so I callled for a re-quote, down to 490.

I erm’d and arh’d they dropped to 360

Two hundred and eighty pounds, i’ve just paid for my Sony Cybershot. haha

ebike give a good discount for R&G crash bungs, i think for me they were quoting at least £50 less.
Also get a bikesafe course done they are offering an extra £100 discount if i have it.
My SV last year was over £850 TPFT, i live in Peckham without a garage. This year if i go with Ebike i can get it to £740 FC or £640 if i get bikesafe course done. Plus they do pay monthly packages with 8months = 1yr NCB.

I’m with CIA ! Got 4 bikes on the same police!

Did you just blow your secret agent cover? Or is this the new open, cuddly, CIA?

Good to see you back btw! Where were you, Guantanamo? How was your Spain? Mine was fabulous!

U’s can all go somewhere else to discuss your Xmas’s in sunnier climes.

Spare a thought for the rest of us please…

You are right Andrew mate! Paivi, I tell you later! Glad you had a nice time! I din’t get less than 20 degrees and sunshine everyday… Ops! Sorry Andrew…

Can have 5 bikes on my Carole Nash policy - not sure if every CN policy has multi-bike facility. Mine is underwritten by Norwich Union…

Gotta say CIA…they’re customer service is pants, but hey they insure me at 22 for a 1000 so it can’t be all that bad right?

Just picking up on this thread from a search - has anyone ever found a multi car and motorbike insurance policy? I’ve never come across one but surely it wouldn’t take too much for an insurance company which underwrites or brokers both types of policy to combine them into one.

Im with a qoute i pay for my first bike at std rate and each additional bike same cover 20 quid each extra not complaing best qoute i could get at the time

I was told that my insurance will cover another bike as long as it is a lower group than current bike, hence they will take highest bike as primary and throw in for free the 2nd bike.
