This morning I may as well just have had a target board on me.
All started literally as I started off, at the bottom of my road a merc pulls out on me, I catch up with him to have a few words but in all honesty the guy did apologise and knew he had done wrong so rather than having ago I just explained he has to be more careful as it is alot more dangerous on a bike.
then a car cannot see the main road because he is bolcked by cars so instead of edging out he just pulls straight into the middle of the road!!
and then (I know) car pullsout of a turn no worries plenty of room for him to go, but then the car behind does not look and goes straight behind him (this one being the closest of the morning) I nearly went down the side of his car…
I know it is another one of those posts which details people nearly getting knocked off but I was only riding for like 30 mins and this has to be the worst journey I have ever encountered.
Strange that 'cos this week has been full of incidents like that for me too. Maybe it’s the phase of the moon or something. Had a white van man follow a car out turning in front of me yesterday having seen me and misjudged my speed. Partly due to my inexperience on the new bike I managed to lock up the rear wheel and performed an almighty rear wheel slide before coming to rest inches from the side of his van. The guy was a muppet for pulling out but to be fair he did apologise when I politely spoke to him at the next lights. I was going too fast anyway and I had seen the van so should have anticipated that he might pull out (however stupidly)…so a bit my fault anyway…
Due to the local LEA’s (sorry, Local EduKashon Arfortities) in Sarf lundun not getting their acts together, this years Easter holidays started at Easter (blimey, there’s a coincidence) but go on with one of another for three (bless them) weeks.
For most of my commute the roads have been pretty empty and the few cars that are out have been doing a cumfy 35 MPH.
I’ve been happily riding and spotting the interesting things and arriving cool, calm and collected.
Oldguy.
(Some smug bastards just make you spit. Or worse.))
