mounting tracks fairings

Hi,

Just purchased a set of track fairings for my 2008/2009 R6 today!

There from Skid-marks (via demon tweaks), so they come with pre drilled holes and quick release fasteners, but I was wondering do I need a mounting bracket for the front nose? or can I just put them straight on, does anyone have an idea?
Totally clueless about fitting them, but know my way around bikes, so shouldn’t have to much of a problem, I just saw mounting brackets for sale for race fairings (e.g. Harris) and was wondering if I need one, even thought I’m keeping the standard clocks.

cheers

I have a different bracket for my fairings, so does J - assume therefore yes. Not too sure with R6s so you may want to give DT a call. Mine has holes to which I have the clocks attached.

Dont forget that if you want to keep your side stand you will have to cut away an opening in the fairing for it.

thanks Abbey,

I gave DT a call and they said it should just go straight on, I guess I’ll find out tomorrow when they arrive.

thanks

Ryan

well enjoy!!

are you going to use raptorpaint then??

They did a wicked job on Jedi’s bike!

If I had the cash i think I would love a respray of mine.

trying to keep the cost down, found someone locally in Watford who will spray it one colour for £120, so going for a blue and white look…Plus helps on the pain if I bin it haha!

Just bought a new Duke for the road, hence turning my R6 in to a track only bike, I’ve got a list as long as my arm of stuff I want to trick it up for the track.

Very cool - would be good if you kept a photo journal of everything - be interested in following that. I was thinking of doing up my road bike as a track bike. But then found an old race bike for very cheap - so picked that up for track.

I got the fairing today, but the nose is for a blad e and they’re grey and not white, so sending then back on tuesday, plus the goodridge brake lines are silver and not blue…arrrhhhh! I thought it was to good to be true with next day delivery, managed to get free fastners thought due to all the mistakes!

thats a good idea of the about the photo diary, I’ll start taking then as its just a standard 2008 r6 with a two brothers end can!

I started looking at rear sets today, but not sure i want to get a set of gillies for £350, when i want to change the ones on the duke aswell, just need a PT job now to fund the bike addiction!
