motrax allycators

was thinking of getting some of these -

anyone had any experience with em? want to make sure they’re good quality and don’t leak. i can bung a bit of silicone at em if there’s problem areas but the manufacturers should really have thought of that eh?

oh yes i think grimbusa has some of these…:)[/i thought all his stuff was faux carbon fibre;)

That’s very sad to know that fact :stuck_out_tongue: Quite right though

They’re on the back of my Busa in black, never knew what make they were  came with the bike :hehe:

Never been any trouble

Chunky, I’ll ignore that :P:D

** DO NOT BUY THE BIKEIT VERSION!! **

I have had to return loads and loads of the BikeIt ones as the bulbs blow and then the customer rounds the screw off. I have tried a few times to take out the screw and every single one rounded itself!

Hopefully the Motrax ones should be made to a better standard.

nice one fellas. might have to see them in the flesh before i part with me hard earned by the sounds of things. better remember to take my little screwdrivers with me.

busa, do they see much wet weather on your bike?

Before anyone takes the p*ss about FWB, yes they have, many times & torrential rain at that, they have never had a problem.

nice one matey. sound good enough to me

As if anyone would do that to another FWD would they?;):P:D

I guess even FWBs get caught out in the odd shower, or is that are an odd shower ?

Why ask me?

just been down infinity clapham for a gander at these little numbers. got the guy there to have a go getting the lenses off. as has been mentioned the screws didn’t want to budge and looks like rounding off is all that’s gonna happen. then noticed a small hex bolt on the reverse. undid that and the bulbs etc just slide out :w00t:

so if you’ve got em and need to change the bulbs, use the single hex bolt on the reverse :hehe:

they’re bigger than i thought though. and def need some silicone up inside the threads to stop water getting inside em but otherwise look well made.

I bought some Motrax mini LED indicators from Gearge white in Slough. Great service and I am happy with the result when compared to the OEM ones. I wanted the larger ones but I am glad I opted to fit the smaller ones TBH and they are just as effective as the old ones but less in your face.Only image I have of the new ones fitted at the moment.

Cost around £80 for the lot to do the job. Dont forget the relay will probably need replacing, mine did to get the flash rate correct.

have had bad experiences with the plastic efforts so far. mainly due to leaking even though i’m putting a load of silicone up the stem. where they sit on my number plate hanger means they got a lot of spray off my rear wheel. was hoping the aluminium ones would be more watertight but won’t really know til i get em on there. cheers tho fella

Ended up with some of these on my 636, they were very nice - well made and did the job - recently I had some led motrax tips on the back but they filled with water and died - quickly. The Bike It ones I replaced them with aren’t as pretty, but cheaper and much better built - time will tell.

The expensive option is the Motrax Flash Fires - very nice, not sure if it’s just my bike or if it’s a ‘feature’, but the wrong side also flashes slightly when indicating - you couldn’t mis-read them, but I like it cos it gives a little bit of extra visibility in the dark.
